TV personality Christine Lampard has expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to fill in for Lorraine Kelly on her show, despite rarely meeting her at work. The Northern Irish presenter often steps in to host the popular ITV programme, Lorraine, when the 64 year old is away, and she's a firm favourite with the show's fans.

In an interview with Woma&Home, Christine shared her practice of expressing gratitude and reflected on her "ridiculous" career success. She said: "If you had told me when I was growing up I'd be doing what I'm doing now, I would have laughed so much. Even now, I find it ridiculous. I love it so much, but it is ridiculous."

She added: "I am naturally grateful and it is something that has been instilled in me. I fully appreciate all the runners on the shows I work on because I was one back in the day."

Christine, who also regularly hosts Loose Women and is married to ex-footballer Frank Lampard, revealed that she appreciates even the smallest things in life.

The 45 year old admitted that while she and Lorraine share a great friendship, they don't often meet face-to-face, reports Wales Online.

"Hosting Lorraine is something I always look forward to. I am blessed with the loveliest team, and it's great to dip in and out, and take the reins for a bit," she said.

"Lorraine and I get on brilliantly, although we're like ships in the night when it comes to the show, so we tend to message a lot. I love the fact she trusts me not to burn the place down while she's away! ".

Lorraine Kelly recently gave an encore performance of her Masked Singer routine, delighting audiences with Kylie Minogues 'Padam Padam' while donning her owl costume, during a special segment of her daytime talk show Lorraine. The celebration marked her impressive 40-year tenure in TV.

Surprises for the Scottish star included being greeted by a brass band and fellow presenters Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard right outside her dressing room as the programme began. They accompanied her into the studio where she encountered a group of family and friends wearing T-shirts featuring her face.

Commenting on the occasion and the documentary set to highlight her journey in television, the beloved presenter remarked: "This is going to be so lovely to show Billy (her granddaughter), when she's old enough I can do that as well as the documentary tonight."

"I can actually show her, it'll be like the most amazing photo album, it just feels like it's gone by in a flash."

"I've been so incredibly lucky, because mainly with the people that I work with, all of these incredible people, my great team, it's a joy to go into work every morning, an absolute joy."
