Black Ops 6 Season 1 release date, new maps, modes, and Zombies
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 1 is almost here and delivers fresh content to the mainline game plus new Warzone Season 1 content too.
by Danielle Rose · PCGamesNWhen is the Black Ops 6 Season 1 release date? It’s almost time for Call of Duty’s annual cycle of content to start up again as Treyarch has confirmed the BO6 Season 1 schedule. Alongside a jam-packed update featuring new maps, Zombies content, and more, it also ushers in a new era for Call of Duty Warzone.
We’ve known about the new Warzone map, Area 99, for quite some time, and it’s finally arriving in the latest update. Following the return of Nuketown to Black Ops 6 multiplayer, Area 99 also takes us back to the nuclear bomb site – a first for the battle royale game. Here’s everything you need to know about Black Ops 6 Season 1 so far.
Black Ops 6 Season 1 release date
Treyarch has confirmed that the Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 1 release date will be Thursday, November 14, 2024. The update introduces the game’s first battle pass, in addition to new maps, modes, and more.
You’ve still got a few days to level up your weapons, figure out your best Black Ops 6 loadouts, and even hit a new BO6 Prestige before the season starts to get ahead of the competition.
Black Ops 6 Season 1 maps and modes
Three brand-new Black Ops 6 multiplayer maps arrive at launch, while another three maps are yet to roll out mid-season, including a festive Nuketown. As for the Black Ops 6 game modes, Ranked Play is back, and the brand-new Ransack mode is all about collecting gold. The most exciting news, though, is perhaps the arrival of Prop Hunt, a fan-favorite mode in previous Black Ops games.
The new multiplayer maps arriving with BO6 Season 1 are:
- Hideout – Core 6v6
- Extraction – Core 6v6
- Heirloom – Core 6v6, 2v2
- Racket – Core 6v6 (mid-season)
- Hacienda – Core 6v6 (mid-season)
- Nuketown Holiday – Core 6v6 (mid-season)
Black Ops 6 Season 1 Zombies
While we’re super excited about the arrival of a new Zombies map, the bad news is that it’s not due until mid-season. That gives you plenty of time to check all the Zombies easter eggs on offer. The new Zombies map, Citadelle Des Morts, wii likely feature more easter eggs, and we know there’s a new BO6 Perk-A-Cola, field upgrade, and ammo mod coming too. We’ve also had confirmation that there’ll be at least 18 more Zombies Augments to unlock.
Three new Black Ops 6 Gobblegums are also being added to the existing roster, and even new BO6 Wonder Weapons, though the timing is vague on when all of this content will arrive. According to the official Call of Duty blog, “Players can expect varying timing for upcoming Zombies content, as some content may drop at seasonal launches and/or in-season.”
The Directed mode for Terminus and Liberty Falls will be arriving when season 1 launches, giving players a clear instructions to complete both the Terminus main quest and the Liberty Falls main quest. While this may sound like good news, the quest reward from each map either changes or disappears if you don’t finish it before the launch of Directed mode, so you’d better get to it soooner rather than later.
Black Ops 6 and Warzone battle pass
As we’ve mentioned, a new battle pass arrives with season 1, containing new weapons, operators, and more. Blackcell, the premium version of the battle pass, also returns for Black Ops 6, featuring an exclusive set of rewards.
Here are some of the Black Ops 6 battle pass unlocks:
- Sevati “Sev” Dumas – Operator
- Goliath – Operator
- Companion – Finishing Move
- Bloom Boomer – Frag Grenade Skin
- Thorn – Tanto .22 Blueprint
Black Ops 6 new weapons
A new battle pass means new weapons to unlock, and there’s an unprecedented seven weapons to get your hands on in. The first two weapons arrive as rewards on the battle pass, and another five guns arrive in a new event. The fiery Dragon’s Breath attachment also returns, alongside the Buffer Weight stock.
Here is every new weapon you can unlock in Black Ops 6 Season 1:
- Krig C – Assault Rifle (Battle Pass)
- Saug – SMG (Battle Pass)
- Sirin 9mm – Special (in-season event)
- Power Drill – Melee (in-season event)
- Maelstrom – Shotgun (in-season event)
- Cleaver – Melee (in-season event)
- AMR MOD 4 – Sniper Rifle (in-season event)
The armory also opens with Season 1, giving you a chance to complete challenges to earn unlockable weapons and attachments you missed in previous battles passes and events.
Black Ops 6 Hit List event
The seasonal event in Black Ops 6 Season 1 is named Hit List, a new event in which you’re given a board of contracts to complete. Deliver on all your hits, and there are plenty of rewards for your hard work, including those brutal weapons listed above.
Warzone Season 1
The beloved and iconic Nuketown map recently returned to Black Ops 6 just a few weeks before season 1. That’s not the only time we’re seeing Nuketown content in Black Ops 6, though, with the holiday map makeover arriving at Christmas and the Nuketown-based Warhead already in the multiplayer game.
Nuketown is coming to Warzone with the Area 99 map. This new Warzone map launches a new era for Resurgence, while the main battle royale map remains as Urzikstan for now. It’s also worth noting that Rebirth Island is sticking around in season 1.
The Black Ops 6 battle pass also crosses over with Warzone, and the launch of season 1 sees Black Ops 6 Omnimovement added to the free PC game. Black Ops 6 weapons and loadouts can be used in Warzone from November 14, in addition to many other features like the Black Ops 6 Prestige system are coming to Warzone.
Until the Black Ops 6 Season 1 release date, Nuketown 24/7 is still live, and you’ve still got time to level up your favorite Black Ops 6 weapons before new ones demand your time and attention in the FPS game. Some may even make it to the best Warzone loadouts list when season 1 hits.
