Kylie Minogue playing Liverpool in 1988 as new tour announced

Kylie Minogue has just announced she is returning to Liverpool as part of a world tour for 2025. The Tension Tour kicks off in Australia before making its way through Asia and eventually the UK in May. For now, a single date has been confirmed for Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena - Thursday, May 22, 2025.

But these brilliant photos, courtesy of our archives Mirrorpix, are bound to stir some memories of when Kylie performed in the city back in 1988. They show a then 21-year-old Kylie headed out to perform her songs live as part of the Hitman Roadshow.

During her early days with Stock Aitken Waterman, the setlist included The Loco-Motion, Got to Be Certain, Tears on My Pillow, Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, Made in Heaven, Hand on Your Heart, Wouldn’t Change a Thing. She closed her set with hit I Should Be So Lucky, the ECHO previously reported.
