Cristiano Ronaldo at the Cae Ras? Even in the age of Hollywood ownership, it sounds farfetched.

The investment from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has already had a transformative effect on Wrexham, and has helped the club to two successive promotions in the process.

The Dragons have gained legions of fans from around the world along the way, many of whom have fallen in the love with the club following the hit documentary series 'Welcome to Wrexham', which has captured the inside story of the club's rise to League One.

Celebrities like Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd have even grabbed a piece of the action, with the club now the toast of tinsel town.

But could they really attract one of the biggest names in world football?

According to former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas, it could yet become a possibility.

Ronaldo is currently in the final year of his contract at Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, and Gallas says he wouldn't be surprised if a move came off.

Speaking to Prime Casino about the prospect of Ronaldo to Wrexham, Gallas said: "Anything is possible in football in the modern game.

"It wouldn't surprise me, because money talks and we've seen that nothing impossible these days.

"Footballers and football clubs are now obsessed with their brands too and their sponsors. You can make a lot of money, and not just from your wages at your club. Now, everything is about social media and having millions of followers. Both Wrexham and Cristiano Ronaldo have huge profiles, so why not?

"Cristiano Ronaldo is more than just a footballer. He's a product, and he's also still scoring so many goals on the pitch.

"There will be so many clubs still happy to have him."

Ronaldo has, however, stated he Al-Nassr is likely to be his last club before retirement.

He said back in August: "I don't know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr."
