Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively have contributed generously to a disaster relief fund, supporting victims of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton in the US. The star couple has given a substantial one million dollars (£765,000) to Feeding America following the havoc caused by Milton when it struck Florida on Wednesday night as a formidable Category 3 storm, boasting winds surpassing 100mph (160kph).

This philanthropic move was made just a day after their close pal, the pop icon Taylor Swift, announced her donation of a staggering five million dollars (£3.8 million) to the same organisation. Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the CEO of Feeding America, commended Blake and Ryan for their act of kindness towards the relief initiatives that assist people in "rebuild and recover" amidst the ruins left by the hurricanes in the south-eastern part of the US.

In a heartfelt expression of gratitude, she remarked, "Their longtime support of Feeding America in times of crisis has helped our network on the ground before, during and after disasters," acknowledging this contribution in a press release on X.

Babineaux-Fontenot elaborated that such funds are vital for food banks to meet basic necessities such as water, ready-to-eat meals and supplies for communities that are grappling with devastating loss and a lengthy period of recovery.

In related news, the country music legend Dolly Parton personally pledged one million dollars (£765,000) towards the hurricane relief efforts. Additionally, her associated business ventures, including the much-loved Dollywood amusement park, have matched the sum for the Mountain Ways Foundation.

Fellow country music artist Morgan Wallen has also stepped up, contributing a generous 500,000 dollars via the Morgan Wallen Foundation to aid recovery efforts in east Tennessee and other areas affected by Hurricane Helene.

In solidarity, fellow musicians Keith Urban, Luke Combs, and Sheryl Crow have revealed plans for a 'Concert For Carolina' event slated for later this month, with a pledge that "all proceeds to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts in the Carolina region".
