BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks' first television appearance unearthed
by Hamaiz Iqbal · Wales OnlinePete Wicks has proved all of his naysayers wrong by proving to be a hit on the dance floor for this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
The reality star and his professional partner Jowita Przystal have been improving each week and despite landing at the bottom of the leader board last week, the Great British Public decided to save the pair.
As his popularity continues to rise, Pete's very first television appearance has been unearthed and he definitely caused a splash in his first scene.
He shot to fame when he joined The Only Way is Essex for the 15th series back in 2015, with the gang flying out to Marbella for their inaugural Summer holiday. As shots of him walking into a beach party flashed up on his screen, his co-stars Ferne McCann, Jess Wright and Lauren Pope gossiped about the new guy on the scene.
Jess gushed: "I just saw a hot guy, he's over there, he's got really nice eyes, long hair," as Ferne responded: "His name is Peter Wicks." She continued: "Do you know what I like about him though? He's a little bit different to any boy here."
In his first speaking part, Pete sat by the pool with his pal James Lock and lent his ear to him as he discussed his relationship issues with Danielle Armstrong.
Pete went on to stay on TOWIE for seven years, cementing his place as one of Essex's lotharios that was constantly in the middle of the drama. From his relationship breakdown with Megan McKenna to his love life blues with pal turned lover Chloe Sims, Pete was a part of it all.
He decided to leave the show he shot to fame on in 2022 and has since expressed that he won't be returning anytime soon.
On Strictly, Pete achieved his highest score of 31 as he dressed up as the Joker and performed to That's Life. He earnt high praise from the judges as well as the public and was left on a high following his incredible dance.
However, last weekend, Pete and Jowita found themselves right at the bottom of the leader board with a disappointing score of 21 after failing to impress with his Salsa performance.
He embodied Freddie Mercury for Icons Week and danced to Another One Bites the Dust, but was told he made mistakes during the dance. However, the public decided to save him, instead choosing Sam Quek and Montell Douglas to be in the bottom two, with Sam being sent home by the judges.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7:20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
