BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers 'in tears' as they 'know who has already won'

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have claimed they already know who the winner of this year's series is, as they hailed comedian Chris McCausland the new "champion"

Chris McCausland has quickly become a firm favourite for the title of this year's Strictly Come Dancing champion after delivering another spectacular performance.

The comedian, 47, graced the dance floor on Saturday, performing a Salsa with professional partner Dianne Buswell. As the first blind contestant on Strictly, Chris astounded the judges and television viewers alike.

Judge Anton Du Beke called his performance "remarkable" mirroring the sentiments of viewers who took to social media to express their support. On the platform currently known as Twitter, fans didn't hold back in their praise.

One dedicated fan commented: "Chris has been my winner from week one and I can't see that changing."

Another was visibly moved: "Crying again at Chris McCausland on #Strictly. He's got to be the winner this year.", reports the Mirror.

A third admirer wrote: "Really rooting for Chris and Dianne. Hoping they make it all the way to the final and win. So impressive to do those lifts without being able to see and then the little extra flourish at the end. Utterly fab-u-lous! ! ".

Yet another chimed in, saying: "I have nothing to say except @chrismccausland and @dbuzz6589 MUST win the series! It's just phenomenal to see! ! There's a lot of fabulous dancers this year and I'm enjoying them all but Chris to win with Tasha in the final also."

The emotional performance left many in tears, with one viewer writing: "I had tears in my eyes and my arms were in the air whilst @chrismccausland just did that massive dance. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing that was incomprehensible. He's as brave as brave can be. What a brilliant funny man he is too. He makes me howl with laughter. ".

Another fan shared the sentiment, saying: "I flipping love Chris and Dianne so much! ! The trust and well just everything within their partnership amazes me so much! Just amazing! ! Was such a joyous dance and I still end up with tears in my eyes."

In response, Chris humorously pointed out how far he had come, joking: "I didn't know what a salsa was on Monday morning! I brought in a bag of Dorritos with me just in case."
