Bake Off's Noel Fielding warns 'it's a family show' as Alison Hammond makes cheeky quip

by · Wales Online

The Great British Bake Off descended into chaos on Tuesday's episode as the contestants learnt what their technical challenge bake was as part of Dessert Week.

Speaking to the tent, host Noel Fielding revealed to the bakers that judge, Prue Leith, wanted them to create the British classic of spotted dick complete with a silky smooth crème anglaise.

This prompted co-host Alison Hammond to joke: "You have two hours and 15 minutes in order to get your d**k ready!" to which the tent erupted into laughter.

As the tent descended into chaos, a giggling Noel, 51, said: "Come on now, kids, this is a family show!" Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were also quick to react to the scenes.

One person said: "Steady on Alison #GBBO" with a shocked emoji, another wrote: "Alison #GBBO" with crying emojis, a different viewer put: "The innuendos of innuendos from Alison #GBBO" with laughing emojis while another added: "Oh my Alison! What a sentence! #GBBO."

As Dessert Week came to an end, it was time to reveal who had won Star Baker and who was sadly leaving. It was revealed that Dylan Bachelet was this week's Star Baker while Sumayah Kazi was sadly eliminated.

Sharing a letter from Sumayah after their exit on the offIcial The Great British Bake Off social media account, it read: "Well... what can I say? To all my fellow bakers who made the experience what it was, they're my second family, we had the best laughs (and cries) together and I can't imagine life without you all now. Bake Off has been the most wonderful experience of my life and I'm so grateful to be part of it.

"I still can't wrap my head around it! It has truly changed my life for the better, I've gained a newfound sense of confidence, motivation and friends for life. Leaving the Tent certainly comes with a cohort of mixed emotions but I am so proud of everything I managed to achieve (a Showstopper handshake was beyond my wildest dreams!) and I left the Tent with the biggest smile on my face.

"Every day was so much fun and I'm so happy to have shared my love of bakery and art with you all! Thanks for all the wonderful support across the world, that is truly CRAZY to me! My journey was cut short but I made memories to last a lifetime!! Thanks for allowing this dream of mine to come true, love Sumayah."

The Great British Bake Off continues on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
