Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks has been dealt a setback ahead of the latest live show, despite earning his highest score of the series last weekend.

Bookmakers have listed Pete and his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal as one of the favourites to be eliminated this weekend.

Following his Movie Week samba to the George Of The Jungle theme, which earned 26 out of 40 points from the judges, Pete's chances of staying in the competition have taken a hit. Football legend Paul Merson and TV presenter Nick Knowles - if he doesn't drop out due to injury - are expected to face off in the dance-off, but Pete is not out of the woods yet.

According to Ladbrokes, Paul, who narrowly escaped elimination last weekend, is now odds-on at 8/11 to be sent home, while Nick has odds of 6/4 for the boot. Meanwhile, Pete, once a strong contender for the Glitterball Trophy, is now 5/1 to be eliminated on Sunday, with all other contestants at 14/1 or higher.

Ladbrokes' Alex Apati commented: "The race for the Glitterball Trophy is well and truly on, but Paul Merson and Nick Knowles will do well to make it past Week Four, if the latest odds are anything to go by."

In terms of winning the competition, former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri remains a strong contender at 3/1, but Chris McCausland has taken the lead as the overall favourite to win at 10/11, according to Ladbrokes. The blind comedian and his dance partner Dianne Buswell have been captivating both judges and viewers with their remarkable performances, reports Birmingham Live.

Their jive to the Wayne's World theme last week received high praise, especially from the typically stern judge Craig Revel Horwood who commended the routine as "packed full of fantastic rhythm", leading to an impressive total score of 30 from the judges. Craig also notably told Chris: "You can dance."
