Michigan couple names newborn son after the brewery where he was born

· New York Post

A Michigan newborn is rocking a catchy name that will serve as a constant reminder of the unusual place he was born.

Kyle and Aaron Baker gave birth to their third child in the parking lot of One Well Brewing in Kalamazoo after a casual trip to the hospital to treat some “random cramping” was quickly cut short when the expectant mother went into labor, according to Fox 17

The couple named their child Forrest Wells Baker – choosing a middle name that pays homage to the frantic situation that led them to one of their favorite pubs on Aug. 13.

Kyle said she didn’t realize she was in labor when she initially told her husband she was experiencing some cramping. As they made their way to the hospital, the pain quickly worsened with her contractions shortening to about a minute, the outlet reported.

The Bakers were forced to pull into the parking lot of One Well Brewing once the baby’s head made an appearance in the car.

“I ripped off my shorts. I had shorts on, and I felt the head crowning, and I’m like, it’s happening now,” Kyle Baker told the outlet.

“By the time he put the brakes on, walked around the passenger side, he got the door open in time to catch his head,” she said.

The baby was born in the pub’s parking lot on his exact due date, the outlet reported, and the parents decided to honor the memory of their unique birthplace.

One Well Brewing owner Chris O’Neill said he found out what happened in his parking lot after the Bakers called in a to-go order to the hospital, Wood TV8 reported.

O’Neill then celebrated the story on the brewery’s Facebook page on Tuesday writing that he’s proud his brewery is gathering spot for all kinds – even newborns.

“Their boy name was already selected as Forrest, which just so happens to be the name we give the middle space of our pub – well, “The Forest” to be exact, so maybe this unique birthplace was meant to be,” the brewery said in Facebook post.

“Aaron and Kyle decided to honor the moment with a middle name of “Wells,” and thus is the story of Forrest Wells Baker’s arrival to this world.”
