Still keeping up with the Kardashians?

Admit it, you are and so are we. Naturally, you’ve probably seen a zillion references to SKIMS, a.k.a. Kim Kardashian’s trendy brand for underwear, loungewear and shapewear.

RELATED: We put the best strapless bras to the test: Our review

Life is too short to be uncomfortable, so we wanted to see if SKIMS was worth our money or a bunch of celebrity hype. We don’t want to spoil things for you but some members of our team can’t stop buying products in every color after testing.

About Skims

Kardashian wanted to create a forward-thinking brand that not only matched every skin tone but had inclusive sizing so everyone could feel beautiful. After all, undergarments shape us literally and figuratively, and SKIMS’ signature fabric stretches up to twice its size, enhancing and flattering curves.

True to her bold style — she is a reality TV star, after all — Kim sparked buzz with the viral Nipple Bra back in 2023, later admitting that it is molded after her own figure.

From flattering bodysuits to push-up bras, we tried some of the most popular pieces to produce our SKIMS review — a beginner’s guide to the brand that highlights the best pieces to start with.

Below, find our first impressions of SKIMS, why we love it, how each piece fits and other styles we recommend. Hurry — these pieces sell out faster than you can spell Kim Kardashian.

Our SKIMS review

SKIMS Simply Bare Underwire Mid-Thigh Bodysuit

Amazon

Pros:

  • Has a lovely smoothing effect
  • Sheer, breathable material

Cons:

  • Light compression

Finding the perfect bodysuit can be challenging when it comes to shapewear. It needs to breathe, move with your body, smooth your lumps, and make you feel fabulous in your skin. Based on our SKIMS shapewear review, this mesh material checked all our boxes except one. This one had lighter compression, especially in comparison to Spanx, which we’ve also tested and reviewed. Still, it smoothed some bumps, so it wasn’t a complete loss.

SKIMS Wireless Form Push-Up Plunge Bra

SKIMS

Pros:

  • The soft push-up pads offer a natural lift without being too dramatic
  • No underwire, so it’s incredibly comfortable

Cons:

  • Wireless design may not provide enough support for fuller chests

My review: I avoided this brand for years, so it actually pains me to say that after purchasing my first SKIMS bra, I fell down a rabbit hole of purchases that I am obsessed with. As someone with 34B boobs, finding the right balance of lift, comfort, and believability in a bra can be tricky, but this plunge-style bra nails it. The soft, push-up foam pads give just the right amount of lift without spilling over the top, and the wireless design is extremely comfortable. It’s convenient to wear with low-cut dresses and tops. The wings along the side are seamless and lay smoothly under all of my tops. Overall, I highly suggest this one for plunge-top looks.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Inclusive sizing, ranging from 30A to 44H
  • Buttery soft material and comfortable underwire that doesn’t dig into your skin
  • Great option for women with large breasts

Cons:

  • None! I feel confident that others will love this bra as much as I do

My review: Out of all the push-up bras we’ve tried, this buttery-soft number from SKIMS fits like a dream and deserves an award. I love the 360-stretch with a lightly padded foam shelf to enhance your boobs. It gives them a rounded curve above the bra, showing off some serious shape. However, if you really want to pop, try the Super Push-Up Bra — now that’s a showstopper. But this one gives me the perfect amount of lift when I want to feel perkier.

SKIMS Super Push-Up Bra

Emma Sutton-Williams

Pros:

  • Doubles your size from a viewer’s perspective
  • Buttery soft feel and seamless appearance

Cons:

  • Sells out quickly
  • Not a wide selection of color options

My review: Out of all the SKIMS bra reviews, this Super Push-Up Bra was my favorite. It may not look like a lot of lift to you, but as a flat-chested woman, I promise you, the difference was vast. This bra will double your bra size while hoisting the girls together. There is a lot of padding here, so if you just want a shelf push-up, I’d suggest getting the SKIMS Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra I really appreciate how smooth this looks underneath my tops because unless you’re intimate with me, this bra is my undetectable superpower for busting up.

SKIMS No Show Unlined Balconette Bra

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Sheer material with a comfortable underwire
  • Inclusive sizing and shades

Cons:

  • Material is so thing that nipples may show beneath

My review: Make no mistake — this bra is sheer, and you can see your nipples through it, more like a bralette. However, for the purpose of this picture, I slid a pair of silicone pads between the sheer material and my body. It wasn’t clear when purchasing if you could see nips just by the pictures, but full disclosure: You can.

This bra has a comfortable underwire with a flattering straight cut on top. Unlike the other bras I tested from SKIMS, this one is designed for every day (a.k.a. my basic size) when you want to show what’s yours while still keeping an element of sexy. It makes for a nice T-shirt bra or for under a sweater when you’re not flaunting a full chest. However, if you don’t slide in a silicone covering, you may have a hint of nip appearing through your shirt. If you like that, you’ll be fine, but I suggest adding your preferred nipple cover to accompany this bra. Check our review on Nips for an affordable price via Amazon.

SKIMS Ultimate Bra Nipple Push-Up Bra

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Nipples are modeled after Kim Kardashian’s tits
  • Inclusive sizing is available and shades
  • Based on our review, a great option for large busted women

Cons:

  • Sells out often

My review: This bra was a lot of fun to test. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after trying it on, I love how it looks. It’s the modern take on bullet bras from the ’40s blended with the ’70s braless trend to give you volume and great lift in one go. I’d say it’s giving off a sexy, GQ cover vibe. Think of a woman soaked in a white shirt, but without the water.

Fun fact: these nipples are modeled after Kim Kardashian’s. The soft sheen microfiber fabric feels amazing, and the tapered foam pads give a natural-looking lift while keeping you at full volume. One thing to keep in mind is the snug fit, so if you’re between sizes, it’s best to size up.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Boy Short

SKIMS

Pros:

  • True to size
  • Lots of colors to choose from
  • Very comfortable and doesn’t bunch

Cons:

  • Sells out quickly

New York Post Review: “The Boy Short is soft and seamless. While you won’t be seeing any personal pics of them, I can attest they are the comfiest bottoms to wear under your cozy pants. And, if you detest underwear lines of any sort, you won’t have to worry about that with SKIMS.

It’s important to keep in mind that these Boy Shorts aren’t thick. If you like your panties with more fabric, these might not be for you, but I absolutely love them for slipping on underneath my bottoms for all-day wear that won’t ride up.” — Victoria Giardina, commerce & content strategist

SKIMS Soft Lounge Long-Sleeve Dress

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Natural “snatching effect” provides shaping without traditional shapewear
  • Silhouette hugs curves and flatters every body type

Cons:

  • Not enough color options

The Soft Lounge dress is a favorite, whether in the spaghetti-strap or long-sleeve style. It hugs your curves with a sleek silhouette that flatters every body type. Available now in black, cypress, and grey.

New York Post Review: “Ok, so here is my verdict: The Skims dress already has a bit of a “snatching effect” without wearing any shapewear beneath it. The material is lightweight but a bit thicker than you would expect, so it does feel like it’s holding you in while emphasizing all the curves. Once you add the bodysuit, you’ll notice that you look smoother all over. The one con for me would be the fact that the sleeves are a bit long, and it’s a bit low-cut. I’m 5-foot-3, but if I was any shorter, I think it would be too long for me.” – Miska Salemann, commerce reporter

SKIMS Sleep Henley Tank & Sleep Straight Leg Pant

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Very soft material
  • The drawstring on the pajama bottoms ensures a custom fit
  • The fabric has a weighted feel in the material

Cons:

  • Size down with the pants as they run large

My review: Never have I felt anything softer than this material. It’s made of micro modal with a little bit of elastane for stretch. Leave it to Kim Kardashian to make you feel sexy in loungewear, but here we are. The top has a scoop/v-cut neck with Henley buttons added for style, and it falls around my belly button. Super soft with a side of sex appeal.

These pajama bottoms are unbelievably soft. They’ve become my go-to for a cozy night’s sleep — and who are we kidding…daywear. SKIMS also sells a matching pair of shorts if pants aren’t your jam. My only con is that they run large. I’m wearing a small, and I need an extra small to keep them on. The drawstring helps, but they slip down by a lot.

SKIMS Cotton Rib T-Shirt

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Available in 7 shades
  • Very flattering fit to show off your chest (if you’re into that)

Cons:

  • Sell out risk

My review: This fitted short-sleeve tee with a classic crew neckline sits just above the belly button on me.

As much as I’d love to say social media marketing doesn’t get to me, I’d be lying. I saw this shirt in an influencer’s video and had to have it, stat. I’ve made peace with my small boobs, but sometimes I want a little boost for extra confidence. This shirt hugs my curves perfectly, flattering both my chest and stomach.

I recommend machine washing cold and air drying to prevent any shrinkage. I don’t have a washer or dryer, so I can’t say for sure if it shrinks, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. The brand does mention you can tumble dry on low, if needed.

SKIMS Cotton Rib Tank

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Extra stretchy and soft
  • True to size and fits like a glove

Cons:

  • This has more of a cropped fit, so it may not suit someone who prefers a longer torso fit

New York Post Review: “One of SKIMS’ most popular lines that was designed for lounging in comfort and style and made to be worn all day, every day. It’s an elevated basics line with a form-fitting yet super soft and comfortable fit.

When I first took the Cotton Rib Tank out of the packaging, I automatically thought it was too small. But, it fit like a glove and it has become my favorite tank in my closet,” says Giardina. “With a comfortable, sweatshirt-like feel and a flattering square-neck cut to accentuate your bust and shoulders, it’s the perfect piece either to wear with lounge shorts. And, unlike other tanks I own, it doesn’t ride up or come too cropped. I paired the tank with a pair of jeans and some booties. Additionally, I paired them with the Cozy Knit Pants for some styling inspo. And, a bonus: the tank is super stretchy.”

SKIMS Fits Everybody Square Next Bodysuit

SKIMS

Pros:

  • Very supportive and runs true to size
  • Offered in 13 shades for 13 days (it’s so good, you’ll want them all)

Cons:

  • G-string bottom may not be everyone’s cup of tea

If you’re looking for a life-changing, shape-altering bodysuit, this SKIMS bodysuit review is for you. The fabric is double-layered and provides a sculpting effect. The suit snaps close with a G-string bottom, so if you don’t enjoy thongs, you may not enjoy this suit, but I highly suggest giving it a try before you knock it.

New York Post Review: “After purchasing this buttery soft bodysuit, my only question is why I waited so long to invest. It’s lightly supportive, but still oh-so-comfy. Kim Kardashian knocked it out of the park on this one.” — Hannah Southwick, Page Six commerce writer

Sizes: XXS-XXXXL | Material: 76% polyamide / 24% elastane | Color: Available in 13 colors

How We Tested

Emma Sutton-Williams
  • Comfort and Breathability: We wore each piece for extended periods to evaluate how comfortable they felt against the skin.
  • Longevity: We assessed how well the garments held up over time, including how they felt after several hours of wear.
  • Shaping and Support: We focused on whether it enhanced our natural curves and provided believable structure without feeling too restrictive.

FAQ

The final verdict?

We really wanted to be skeptical of these reality TV star’s products, but in this rare case, our Kim Kardashian SKIMS products passed our test. Every piece we tried was buttery soft and breathable, making us feel confident all day long.

With a distinctly sexy vibe, SKIMS stands apart from the typical loungewear on department store clearance racks. These pieces are thoughtfully designed to help you look your best and pop on Instagram (or TikTok).

SKIMS is all about empowering women to dress with confidence. From cozy loungewear to curve-enhancing shapewear, the collection is designed for real women of all shapes and sizes.

Though a more luxe brand, many of its pieces are less than $100, so they are well worth the price. Plus, it’s the easiest way to look snatched and good without trying.

Is Skims a good brand?

Beyond the fact that Kim Kardashian started this brand, SKIMS has gained popularity for its inclusive sizing, comfortable fabrics, and minimalist designs. We found the quality to hold up and enhance our features. Our only con is that items sell out fast, and we had trouble finding the right size, color, and product because so many love them. It’s an excellent brand problem to have. Check out other beloved products, such as SKIMS swimsuits for summer or robes, coats, and leggings for fall.

Do Skims run big or small?

SKIMS bras generally run small, but the brand offers so many inclusive sizes that finding your fit shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re unsure, SKIMS recommends sizing up.

We found that shapewear and bodysuits are very forgiving and true to size, with the material stretching up to two sizes to move with you. The same goes for SKIMS underwear.

Dresses and tops have a snug fit, so if you prefer a looser feel, consider sizing up. However, the loungewear — especially the SKIMS Sleep Straight Leg Pant — tend to run large, so we suggest sizing down.
