Ray D'Arcy inducted into IMRO Radio Hall of Fame

RTÉ Radio 1 presenter Ray D'Arcy is among the IMRO Radio Awards Hall of Fame inductees for 2024.

At a ceremony in Dublin, D'Arcy was added to the Hall of Fame alongside LMFM's Eddie Caffrey, Sunshine 106.8's Carol Dooley, and BBC Northern Ireland's Hugo Duncan.

The initiative recognises individuals working in the radio industry who have made a significant and valuable contribution over the course of their careers.

D'Arcy said: "I am delighted to be inducted into the IMRO Radio Awards Hall of Fame and to be recognised in such illustrious company as my fellow inductees.

"I am privileged to love what I do every day and would like to thank my loyal audience who tune in on a daily basis to The Ray D'Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1."

Peter Woods, Head of RTÉ Radio 1, commented: "I'm delighted Ray D'Arcy is being inducted into the IMRO Hall of Fame. Ray has enjoyed a very significant broadcasting career with RTÉ and Today FM.

"He has an established career as a music broadcaster but also has a driven and significant interest in social affairs and the abiding curiosity that is a mark of the best presenters."

The IMRO Radio Awards will take place at the annual gala on 4 October at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Co Kilkenny.
