‘Days of Our Lives’ Renewed for Season 61 at Peacock

The newest outing will mark the iconic soap opera’s third season of streaming exclusively on Peacock. From its 1965 premiere until 2022, it aired on NBC, where it eventually became the network’s longest-running drama. Since the move, according to NBCUniversal, “Days of Our Lives” has remained among the streamer’s top 10 most-watched titles. New episodes release on every weekday, which will bring the series to its 15,000th episode on Dec. 2.
News of the “Days of Our Lives” renewal comes just before Day of Days, the series’ 60th anniversary celebration taking place at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Saturday.

Set in the fictional town of Salem, Ill., “Days of Our Lives” follows the lives of several families including the Bradys, the Hortons, the Carvers, the DiMeras and the Kiriakises. Prominent members of the current cast include Suzanne Rogers, Susan Seaforth Hayes, Deidre Hall, Carson Boatman, Raven Bowens, Tamara Braun, Elia Cantu, Bryan Dattilo, Mary Beth Evans, Dan Feuerriegel, Billy Flynn, Galen Gering, Linsey Godfrey, Stacy Haiduk, Jackée Harry, Leo Howard, Cherie Jimenez, Abigail Klein, Eric Martsolf, AnnaLynne McCord, Stephen Nichols, Ashley Puzemis, James Reynolds, Josh Taylor, Paul Telfer and Robert Scott Wilson.
“Days of Our Lives” is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday executive produces, while Albert Alarr serves as co-executive producer and Ron Carlivati sis head writer.
The series has earned 62 Emmys throughout its 60-year run. Most recently, Dick Van Dyke became the oldest Daytime Emmy winner ever, taking home a guest acting award at age 98.
