A loved-up woman says she gets stared at in public after getting a matching tattoo with her convict boyfriend.

Valery, from Hounslow, says boyfriend Mo is currently on remand but is expected to be sentenced to six to 12 years behind bars. He has already been in jail five times during their relationship, confessing he “doesn’t really know” her.

However Valery, who shares one-year-old daughter Sarila with her inmate boyfriend, says she “can’t abandon” him and will “always be there” whenever he gets out. Her friends and family were initially hesitant about her relationship, especially when the pair decided to get matching neck tattoos.

Speaking on Love Don’t Judge, she said: “When he got out of prison, he wanted to do something exciting and fun, so he thought let’s just get matching tats and I was like ‘yeah, why not’. So he got king and I got queen because I’m a queen.

“We posted it online and we got loads of reactions. At first, the trolls used to get to me and I was on the phone to him being like ‘oh, they’re saying this, they’re saying that’ and because of him, I learnt to not pay attention to what they say.

“Every time I’m out, people just stare at me, but I don’t care.”

Valery says her family weren’t approving of her relationship with Mo at first due to his criminal convictions. And she says she even issued her boyfriend an ultimatum when he was last released two years ago.

She added: “They obviously want me to find someone better but I love him. When Mo came out of prison in 2022, I told him that if does go back to prison, I’m not taking him back.

“But then he did end up going back to prison but I was three months pregnant so I couldn’t leave him. I went through my whole pregnancy and labour alone.”

Valery says she is now raising Sarila as a “single parent” while her partner waits to learn how long he will be spending behind bars. However, she says she has a “good support system” from her family as well as Mo’s.

People online say Valery is “delusional” and “wasting her money” sending clothing to Mo while he’s behind bars. And she even confesses she may be “a little bit delusional”.

Friend Keneisha said: "I did have reservations with the fact that he's a criminal in and out of prison. It's not exactly a good life for a woman to be with a partner like that."

Valery however says people online who judge her relationship can “f*** off”. She concluded: “He's like the male version of me, except the criminal activities, that's why I always keep running back to him."
