Kelly Osbourne stuns fans with alarming drug confession in new Matthew Perry documentary

Kelly, who first shot to fame on the MTV show The Osbournes, has battled drug addiction for years, and was one of the famous faces in a new documentary about the Friends star’s death

Kelly Osbourne stunned fans with an alarming drug confession in the new Matthew Perry documentary.

The 39-year-old has battled drugs and alcohol addiction for many years, and the reality star has been open about seeking help for her issues. She has been clean since 2017, and Kelly bravely discussed her addiction to prescription drugs in a new Hulu documentary TMZ Investigates: Matthew Perry & The Secret Celebrity Drug Ring. The show focuses on the alleged drug ring in Hollywood that has been accused of being responsible for prescribing ketamine to the Friends star, who died last year.

Kelly revealed distressing details about how her addiction began when she was just 13 years old, and was prescribed copious amounts of painkillers without the permission of her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. She told the investigation by TMZ that she once had six different private doctors filling her prescriptions during the height of her addiction, and discussed the rampant use of opioids and painkillers in Hollywood.

Her addiction began after she underwent surgery on her tonsils, and described taking painkillers as “this great big warm hug”, but it soon developed into a serious addiction. She admitted she was able to medication “all the time” through a network of private doctors who didn’t perform checks on Kelly before prescribing her strong painkillers. “I didn’t have illegal street drug dealers, all of my drug dealers were doctors. Every single time,” she explained.

Kelly said she was a “very good actress” who could convince doctors to prescribe her medication, and she would “feign a lot of pain” to get her prescription increased from Vicodin to the “very dangerous” opioid Oxycontin. She said no doctor ever consulted her mother Sharon about the prescriptions, or asked for permission to increase her prescription as she was still a teenager at the time. As her addiction worsened, Kelly confessed she would fill the prescriptions in herself, and had doctors all around the US giving her powerful painkillers.

“At one point I was going to, like, six different doctors. And I’d have them in New York and LA and London, so that when I ran out, I could call different ones to refill them for me. I mean, it would be absolutely impossible for them not to have seen that I was an addict, with the amount that I was being prescribed,” Kelly recalled. “If you wanted an Adderall doctor, then I knew who to talk to. If it was opiates, then I also knew which people in Hollywood to go to to find out who their new ‘rock doc’ was.”

Matthew, 54, suffered a fatal ketamine overdose at his home in Los Angeles in October last year. Five people have been charged in connection to the star’s tragic death, including medical doctors, Matthew’s assistant and an alleged dealer that US prosecutors have dubbed as the “Ketamine Queen”.
