Katie Price has introduced the 'newest edition' of her family with fans - sharing new snaps of her latest pet.

The 46-year-old mother-of-five has caused controversy in the past as she has welcomed many pets into her home - only for many of them to die in her care. On Sunday, the OnlyFans star took her followers on something of a tour of her social media platforms as she teased the arrival of a new family member via one platform only to link to another.

Beginning her information sharing journey on Instagram Stories, Katie shared a simple statement alongside a photograph of herself, writing: "Meet the newest edition to my family." She added a link to the post which, once clicked on, redirected her fans to her Snapchat page.

Once there, fans were rewarded with the view of a hairless kitten staring inquisitively at the camera. A second snap showed the kitty sitting in Katie's lap while she placed her hands on either side of it - giving viewers an idea of perspective and how small the new pet is. She had previously announced the addition of the cat to her family last week - sparking concern from fans.

Katie has unfortunate track record of being in charge of animals who die at a young age. Earlier this year, a change.org petition to have Katie banned from owning pets attracted tens of thousands of signatures from concerned animal lovers. And at the beginning of this year, animal charity Peta even offered the star £5,000 to sign a contract agreeing not to take in any more animals.

The Change.org petition was launched in light of the news that five dogs and a horse had all died over the course of six years. Her German Shepherd, Blade, another dog named Sharon, and a third called Sparkle were all killed on the A24, close to her East Sussex home. Another dog named Queenie was run over by a pizza delivery van, and a French bulldog named Rolo suffocated to death after being trapped under a chair. A horse also died after running onto the road near her home and being hit by a lorry - while a cat was also put down in recent weeks. But Katie's menagerie of animals continues to expand with the addition of her Sphynx kitten - which reportedly cost £800.

Katie had to have her last cat put down just a few weeks ago. She had only had Frog for around five months when he developed an incurable neurological disease. Katie talked about her and her boyfriend JJ Slater's love for Frog in her newly-released memoir This Is Me. She said: "He is so naughty though, he got in the bath with me last night.

"I probably shouldn't say that. I'm sure people will tell me off for that, won't they, Frog? He's just come to sit on my shoulder, which is one of his favourite spots." However, Katie described how they had realised something was wrong with Frog on her social media. She said: "A few weeks after writing this chapter, we noticed that Frog stopped jumping on the side of the kitchen.

"Then he couldn't jump on the sofa. Then he couldn't jump up on the bed. There was something wrong with him so I took him to the vets. He had a neurological disease. There was absolutely nothing I could do. Within days it had spread through his body right to the point that he couldn't even go to the toilet on his own." She then shared the heartbreaking news of his death adding: "So I cuddled him in my arms and he had to be put to sleep. He was only five months old."
