Celebrity MasterChef is facing a fix row ahead of its final after a shock elimination left fans online fuming over the decision

Fans of Celebrity MasterChef are calling out the show for "fixing" the finale line up.

Viewers of the hit BBC show were left fuming after fan favourite Harry Aikines-Aryeetey missed out on the final. The disappointment came despite fellow contestant Craig Doyle making a huge mistake with his latest dish.

On the latest episode, Gladiator Harry, presenter Craig, actor Rochenda Sandall and Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola were vying for a place in the coveted final. With one of the quartet set to go home, they were tasked with making a dish that had been inspired by someone special to them.

Craig chose to create a lemon tart with four meringues. The pudding was dedicated to his four children. However, despite the sweet gesture, the This Morning man muddled up the recipe. Instead of adding sugar to his dish, he sprinkled in salt.

The error wasn't enough to send him home though, even though he admitted he had "made peace" with being eliminated. Instead, Harry and apple and plum dish in tribute to his mum got the chop by hosts John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

Viewers rushed to Twitter/X to air their discontent at the decision. One user fumed: "#CelebrityMasterchef I'm sorry….but that's a bloody disgrace – so you can make a MASSIVE mistake and put salt over your food and not sugar but still get through. I feel so sorry for @HarryAA100m˜ – he should've gone through. I'm disgusted with this appalling decision."

Another gobsmacked user wrote: "Someone please explain to me. He sprinkles salt all over his dessert, one major feck up imo, but still goes through to the next round! Whilst the other contestant presented a beautiful array of puddings, all very tasty by all accounts, gets the elbow! Wtaf!"

And a third called out the decision for being a "fix", saying: "Your man put salt on top of his dessert and they got rid of Harry. Absolute fix that."

Revealing his thoughts of making the final, Craig recently confessed: "I didn’t dare think about making the finals, but that darn kitchen is addictive. You want more and more, so making it to the end is amazing. To be honest I’ve forgotten what life was life before MasterChef. It’s like, this is what I do now, cook for a bald guy and an Aussie chap."

As the six-week competition comes to a close, the remaining trio will be tasked with showcasing their ability to dazzle the judges with their Ultimate Dinner Party Menu. The task requires each contestant to create two courses - a main and dessert. They must deliver on every front, including creativity, technique, taste and presentation, if they are to be crowned this season's winner.
