Married At First Sight UK star breaks silence on Katie Price and JJ Slater amidst 'split' fears

Katie Price and JJ Slater's romance has been given the seal of approval by Married at First Sight UK expert Paul Bronson, who mentored JJ on the Channel 4 show

Married at First Sight UK's Paul Brunson has dished out his insights on Katie Price and her JJ Slater's budding romance.

JJ, a familiar face from the last series of Married at First Sight UK where Paul mentored him, has now won the heart of Katie Price, much to Paul's delight. The relationship counsellor is all for the couple who made their love official earlier in the year and were recently the subject of split rumours.

He believes they have what it takes to go the distance. In a chat with The Daily Star, Paul didn't skimp on praise: "I'm a fan of both of them. They seem happy, they support each other, they seem to have a lot of the same values. I think they've both gone through a lot of trauma in their lives and that bonds people."

He added, "I don't know the intimacy of [their relationship] but I'm a supporter. I'm a big supporter and fan of both of them." Katie, no stranger to sharing her struggles, has candidly spoken about her harrowing experience with PTSD in the Channel 4 documentary Trauma and Me. She disclosed her intense battle with severe depression and having suicidal thoughts linked to the time of her drink driving arrest.

Meanwhile, JJ found himself in hospital last year after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Interestingly, it was Katie who got in touch with him following his diagnosis, leading to their connection over a coffee date in December. After Katie Price, 46, turned up solo at a White Fox bash in London, leaving her beau JJ, 31, behind, fans were left wondering if the couple had called it quits. OK! Magazine reported concerns about a potential split, but Katie has since set the record straight, confirming that she and JJ are still going strong.

The lovebirds have been an item for half a year, with their romance coming to light this January. Taking to social media to affirm their relationship, Katie shared: "They say things happen for a reason, the unexpected happened. Fate. Ticks every box. @johnjoeslater you have proved to me you are a real gentleman and completely [accept] me for me."

Even during his stint as a groom on MAFS, JJ couldn't hide his affection for Katie, confessing he wished she was the one waiting for him at the end of the aisle. Reflecting on their bond, JJ remarked: "It wasn't something I was looking for, I had been on Married At First Sight UK, which was a stressful and intense experience but with Kate and I... it just happened supernaturally."

Despite some naysayers pointing out their 14-year age difference, JJ has brushed off the criticism in a chat with MailOnline, stating: "With our age, it's not even a consideration... age doesn't matter at all. Age is just a number and when you're older it's not an issue."

Rumours of an engagement were stoked by Katie herself when she re-shared a video captioned: "When someone proposes to Katie Price" featuring a children's character humorously saying: "I'll just have one more go, alright? ".

Paul has recently unveiled his latest podcast, We Need To Talk, has been launched by Paul, where he shares his expertise on matchmaking to help people become the best version of themselves. Within 24 hours, the podcast gained 100k views, 2m views on social media, and reached the top of the charts on Apple and Spotify.

Paul expressed his thoughts on the podcast, stating: "We Need To Talk is a very special project. It is unbelievable because of everyone here. The passion that the Flight Studio team has is second to none. When the project came out you could feel the cheering, literally. That's what unifies everyone here in this building is the level of passion."
