Furious Netflix viewers ‘not even surprised’ as ‘delightful’ comedy cancelled after two seasons

Yet another series has been axed by the streamer after just a couple of installments, but Netflix viewers admit they’re not shocked

Netflix subscribers are fuming after another series was recently cancelled - and many of them conceded they’re no longer surprised.

The list of cancelled shows on the platform is growing by the week, including Kaos and That 90s Show both being ended in October.

Now, subscribers are reacting as the Rob Lowe-starring comedy Unstable has come to an end after just two seasons.

While many were disappointed the series never fulfilled its full potential, others aren’t shocked following what they thought was a lacklustre second season.

Meanwhile, discontented viewers have come to expect Netflix shows to have a brutally short life expectancy compared to other streaming services.

“Bummed to hear ‘Unstable’ got canceled after just two seasons,” one fan said on X (formerly Twitter).

“It had such a quirky charm! Guess I’ll have to find a new favorite show now.”

“Like Netflix can't even surprise me anymore!” another fumed.

“That's a bummer I thought Unstable had potential It’s tough to see shows get canceled,” a third said.

The discussion continued on Reddit, where one viewer said: “At this point I mostly hear about Netflix shows via their cancelation.

“They make way too many shows to effectively market them, and then instantly kill them off if they don't become a viral hit by happenstance.”

Another pointed to a disappointing downward shift in quality in the second outing: “My friend worked on this show. They changed writers and showrunner from S1 to S2, as many networks do unfortunately.

“And the show paid the price for it. S1 was a delightful and cozy, S2 lost the plot. Not to mention there was basically zero promo when S2 was released.”

While another said: “Not surprised by this one. While the show has its moments of being funny, overall it's average at best.

“Maybe they were banking on Rob Lowe being in it as enough to gain an audience.”

Lowe is currently still starring as Captain Owen Strand in the hit Fox drama 911: Lone Star and this year stepped into a new role as the host of the new game show, The Floor.

Unfortunately, his foray into streaming hasn’t been quite as successful and this year it was confirmed that Lone Star will also be coming to an end with its fifth season.
