While the public is traditionally treated to birthday photos of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, details of how they celebrate on the day are kept largely under wraps.

One exception came in 2019. It was revealed at the time that George had turned six in the most incredible location perfectly fit for a prince - and it had a price tag to match. In July of that year, the Wales family stayed in a luxury £27,000-a-week villa on the private Caribbean Island of Mustique , along with Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton. In total, their two-week holiday would have cost approximately £57,000.

Mustique is a popular destination for the royals, given the island's privacy policy, including a no-fly zone, and the discretion of other guests; William and Kate first visited in 2008 and have been returning ever since. According to the Sun , the royals stayed at the five-bedroom luxury holiday pad, Villa Antilles - featuring a kids' room with two bunk beds, a butler, housekeeper and private garden. It also boasts a 18-metre infinity pool , which overlooks the ocean.

The home was built in 2016 and is owned by property developer Andrew Dunn – a long-time pal of Prince William. The website states: "The focus is on al fresco dining at Antilles. With a choice of indoor and outdoor dining locations and a trained chef , menus can be tailored to suit every taste and preference. Household staff live on-site in dedicated staff accommodation to provide daily service and hospitality." It is further described as "an exceptional new contemporary colonial style villa set in the Endeavour Hills, with a captivating outlook to Bequia and St Vincent beyond".

Privacy is absolutely paramount on the island of Mustique , making it an ideal destination for William, Kate and their children. A former holidaymaker previously told HELLO! just how strict security is. It seems to be an unwritten rule that photography is off limits, and everyone respects each other's privacy. "Mustique is very exclusive and press and paparazzi can't be within a certain distance from the island, which would explain why you only see long-lens, grainy shots of the royals," the insider said. Day visitors can only stay on a certain part of the private island while the rest of the area is shut off to overnight guests, who have to show proof of their accommodation if asked.

"As soon as you dock, there are taxi drivers who you can hire to take you around and point out celebrity hotspots," the source revealed. "They point out A-listers' houses – we saw Bryan Adams, Tommy Hilfiger and Mick Jagger 's homes. We went to Cotton House Hotel, Basil's Bar and Macaroni Beach where we spotted Jade Jagger having a swim. We also saw Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy while we were having a drink at Basil's Bar. We also went past the sloped runway where the private jets land. It was like something out of James Bond. It was surrounded by lots of trees – it's almost like a secret, hidden runway."
