PlayStation just delivered one hell of a sucker punch (if you'll pardon the pun) with its latest State of Play showcase.

PlayStation restored a lot of faith last night. The State of Play showcase had a lot to contend with, with players being left deflated by a weak PS Plus Essential September drop, a PS5 Pro price reveal that boxed players out, and the decimation of Concord that proved that Sony’s attention simply isn’t where it needs to be. The State of Play event needed to prove that the company has the interests of gamers in mind by providing them with reveals for PS4 and PS5 games they’re going to love – and they’ve managed to do it.

Perhaps the final reveal of the night did most of the heavy lifting, but overall, the entire showcase proved that there are plenty of games and releases to be excited about. PlayStation’s recent career might be like a slide with too many curves in it, but at least there are some bangers on the horizon.

Here are all of the State of Play announcements for September.

State of Play announcements for September 2024

Here are each of the State of Play announcements for September 2024, including the appearance of Hell is Us, Legacy of Kain and the brand-new sequel to Ghost of Tsushima:

That’s everything that you need to know about the details revealed in this month’s State of Play – though it’s a lot to juggle. It’s a truly immense lineup of new games, peripherals and updates, and with the appearance of Ghost of Yotei, it’s truly been a show to remember. Hopes are high that this lineup could draw PlayStation away from the “PlayStation has no games memes,” and there’s every chance that it could, especially when we’re exploring Yotei for ourselves.
