I'm A Celebrity star 'would've ended up in prison' if they hadn't found fame
Influencer and content creator Grace Keeling, known as GK Barry, talked about what she would have been doing if she weren't famous
by Zara Woodcock · The MirrorI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Grace Keeling joked she 'would have ended up in prison' if she hadn't found fame.
The influencer, who is known as GK Barry, rose to fame when she started posting videos on TikTok in 2020 while doing a film studies degree at Nottingham Trent University. In only a year, the influencer and presenter surpassed one million followers on the video-sharing platform.
She went on to host her own podcast called Saving Grace and toured around the UK for the live version of it. Grace has appeared in Love Island: Aftersun, CelebAbility, The Wheel, The Weakest Link, and Don't Look Down for Stand Up to Cancer. Since August this year, she made a few guest appearances on Loose Women.
And now, the star is taking another positive step in her career by appearing on I'm A Celebrity. The 25-year-old previously said she would have been in jail if it wasn't for fame and, in a recent interview, joked: "I think maybe for just being too good-looking."
She said to Daily Star: "Yeah and my a*** is too flat that they wouldn't ever let me out. Cuff me. But it's ok, I'll just be doing stand-up in prison." When the star appeared on CelebAbility in 2023, she admitted she would have liked to work in a prison when she was into a very specific type of man.
Speaking to host Ian Stirling, Grace said: "Back in the day, I used to like a spicy bloke, missing teeth, and a possible criminal record, so I thought 'How do I meet these men? Prison!' And I can help them get out. But then I met a really nice guy with teeth who wears quarter zips. So, I've been changed now for the better."
It comes after Grace insisted her appearance on I'm A Celeb would make for 'good viewing'. Speaking to the Mirror, the YouTuber said: "I hate bugs. I hate sleeping outside. I've never done it. And so I think that would be a lot. But I feel like it would also probably be good viewing for other people."
GK has amassed an audience of 3.6 million since first posting on TikTok in 2020,. The star, from Cambridge, also has 1.5 million listeners to her podcast, which she launched in 2022. Discussing her impressive viewing figures, Grace confessed it all happened by accident.
She went on: "I called myself GK Barry because I didn’t want people from school or university finding my videos. I was embarrassed about it at first. It’s ironic. When you’re small, a lot of people will judge you for the content you are putting out. But as soon as you start getting bigger, all those people who judged you want to become your best friend."
