Married At First Sight couple's shock secret split exposed despite loved-up appearance on E4 show

Ross McCarthy was the first deaf groom to feature on the E4 dating show, and fans were rooting for his marriage to Sacha Jones, but their relationship didn’t get off to the best start

Married At First Sight fans have been dealt a devastating blow as they discovered one of the couples has split in secret.

Manchester-born Ross McCarthy, 32, was the first deaf groom to feature on the E4 dating show, and was paired with Sacha Jones, 29. They met for the first time on their wedding day, and fans were blown away by Ross, who many dubbed the best groom ever to feature on MAFS. However, eagle-eyed social media wannabe detectives have figured out that Ross and his Birmingham-born bride have split.

Their relationship got off to a rocky start, as when they exchanged vows, the aesthetics practitioner asked for a kiss on the cheek, rather than the lips. Sacha later told Ross that she was celibate, and respecting his new wife, the painter and decorator decided to sleep on the sofa on their wedding night. During the wedding reception, Sacha confessed to one of the guests that her celibacy may cause an issue in her marriage.

However, the couple got on well, and with many fans bowled over by Ross’ ‘green flags’ in his relationship with Sacha, there were high hopes that the newlyweds would last. They moved into their apartment, and after the first commitment ceremony, Ross and Sacha decided to stay together and work on their marriage.

But in the comments on a recent post by Ross on Instagram, it was suggested that they had split, leaving fans heartbroken. “Gutted you 2 didn’t make it after the experiment. Was rooting for yous,” one follower wrote, prompting an outpouring of replies from shocked fans. “it’s on TikTok,” they explained, revealing that a user on TikTok “just made a tiktok with indications”.

“That only true decent man there is to come on our screens I’m praying you two are still together,” another added, while one agreed: “Lovely guy treats his bride so classy love this match.” While another well-wisher chimed in: “Ahh you are such a lush guy in every way, so refreshing, good luck.”

Ahead of his appearance on the dating show, Ross revealed he has a daughter who he described as the “centre of his universe”, and confessed he had been unlucky in love in the past. “I’ve been engaged before and this is my third time lucky. I’m looking forward to meeting my wife. I’m ready for this,” he sweetly shared. Ross was paired with Sacha by relationship experts Mel Schilling, Charlene Douglas and Paul C Brunson, and the couple are unable to discuss details of their relationship until their final scenes on the show have aired.
