Everyone has been talking about a large, delicious chocolate cake that resembles the iconic monstrous cake from book and film Matilda.

We all remember when Bruce Bogtrotter was caught steeling a slice of scary head teacher Miss Trunchbull's chocolate cake - and as punishment he was forced to chomp through an entire 18-inch cake. The cake has become so well known and left people trying to recreate their own versions at home.

Now, you can get your hands on a "nice and dense" 24-layered cake - the almighty Bertha - in London. The treat by Leeds bakery Get Baked is served at Fortnum and Mason and has left people queuing around the corner of the store from 8am to get their hands on a slice. It has been described as "Britain's most wanted cake" and will set you back a steep £17 for a slice, or a whopping £160 for a whole cake.

After seeing the buzz around the treat, content creator Kristabel Plummer went to see if the fuss is really worth it. It comes after she was unable to get her hands on it by ordering online as "they would sell out within seconds", she explained. Instead she heading down to the Piccadilly store.

She shared a video on Instagram of her trying the cake and said: "Today I'm in Fortnum and Mason. I'm here to try the viral Get Baked cake. I've been trying to get my hands on this for months. I am so excited.

"The Bertha cake costs £17 for a slice or £160 for the whole cake." Tucking in, she added: "It's dense but it's good. I've heard mixed reviews. Some people say it's like a supermarket cake, I mean but I think it’s definitely better. It's a good solid cake."

"It's up there with my faves," she added. "I'm so glad that they brought it down to London."

But if you want to get your hands on the treat you will have to be quick as it is only available until Thursday, October 17.

A third added: "Bought a slice a couple of weeks ago. It was delicious. There was enough for seven people to share. And it is far superior to anything I ever bought in any supermarket." "I really want to try it," added another.

One individual said: "No. £17 for a slice of cake is absolutely ridiculous, especially in this economic climate." "No cake is worth £17 for a slice," one other agreed.
