Ruth Langsford 'can't be bothered' with a new man after Eamonn Holmes split, Vanessa Feltz says
Pals Ruth Langsford and Vanessa Feltz have both come out of long-term relationships in recent years, with them having respectively separated from Eamonn Holmes and Ben Ofoedu
by Joel Leaver · The MirrorRadio host Vanessa Feltz has teased that neither she nor pal Ruth Langsford "can be bothered" to find new partners after their respective long-term relationships ended.
Vanessa, 62, separated from her fiancé Ben Ofoedu, 52, last year after for more than a decade together. Whilst Loose Women panelist Ruth, 64, announced the end of her marriage to Eamonn Holmes, 64, back in May. Singer-songwriter Ben and TV presenter Eamonn are both thought to have since moved on with new partners.
Friends Vanessa and Ruth are thought to have supported each other over their break-ups, and the former was asked recently if the latter was her new "wing woman". It comes after former This Morning presenter Ruth attended the launch of her pal's memoir, Vanessa Bares All, last month.
Addressing the question, Vanessa told the Daily Mail: "I don't know if either of us can be bothered." Sharing an insight into the friendship, she added: "We'd probably rather go out together and have a laugh and leave men out of it." During her interview with the outlet, LBC radio host Vanessa - who appeared on last year's series of Celebs Go Dating - was also asked if she has any plans herself to get back into dating.
She replied: "I don't know." Vanessa added that she's "trying her best" and said she has "dip-toed in the field". Vanessa is understood to have supported Ruth in the wake of her split from Eamonn, which was announced earlier this year. The former couple had been together for more than two decades and are parents to son Jack Holmes, 22.
Speaking about her close pal, Vanessa revealed back in September that she was supporting newly-single Ruth over the break-up, as reported by the Sun. She told the outlet: "I completely respect her desire, quite rightly, to keep this as, you know, from her perspective, dignified, quiet, you know, and just deal with it, yeah, on her own, privately." She further commented at the time: "So, of course, she's my actual friend in real life. I've been in contact, but I certainly respect her, and admire her dignity, and her silence over this, and that's really all I want to say about it."
Last year, Ruth had similarly expressed her support towards Vanessa following the news that her relationship with Ben had come to an end. She praised her pal in a segment on Loose Women and said her heart was "breaking" for her. Ruth said on the ITV show: "Well, listen, Vanessa if you're watching - lots of love to you. I have to say, Vanessa's a friend of mine. My heart's breaking for her. It's hard enough when you go through a break-up, but when you have to do it so publicly [...] I think she has taken ownership of this though. She's poured her heart out [on her] social media."
