'I had a baby with my lover like Dave Grohl – the 'other woman' always suffers most'

As Dave Grohl breaks cover for the first time since his shock love child revelation, a woman who became pregnant by a married man has warned of the perils of being a mistress.

The Foo Fighters rocker, who stunned fans by announcing he had fathered a daughter 'outside of his marriage' was today seen out and about shopping for Halloween decorations, accompanied by 10-year-old daughter Ophelia.

The identity of the baby's mother remains unknown, however, Melissa* can relate to her situation all too well, including the heartbreak of being the 'other woman'...

In 2015, Melissa, from the West Midlands, set about looking for romance through IllicitEncounters.com, a website for those looking to have an affair.

She recalled: "I actually wasn't married, but I didn't want anything serious. I already had a three-year-old daughter and wasn't looking for a relationship."

Everything changed however when she embarked on a relationship with George*, a married man with adult children. It wasn't long until their raunchy affair began to feel like something more, with George even getting to know her daughter.

Melissa, now 50, remembered: "He became a father figure to my daughter. It felt like we had something real."

Then, in December 2016, Melissa began feeling unwell and visited the hospital, only to learn she was 17 weeks pregnant According to Melissa: "I was in total shock – I had a contraceptive implant, so I didn't think it was even possible!"

Although Melissa initially intended to have an abortion, George was intent on keeping the baby, and it even appeared as though he would commit to a new life with her, away from his wife.

Melissa revealed: "He turned up on my doorstep, moved in, and told his wife everything. They couldn't believe it."

However, their initially exciting living situation didn't last, and it wasn't long until Melissa was left feeling abandoned. One day, Melissa returned home to discover George had up and left, taking his belongings with him.

She said: "He'd packed up and went back to his wife. I was devastated. He promised he'd support me and the baby, but then had the audacity to ask me to keep being his mistress. I couldn't believe it."

To add further insult to injury, Melissa had to deal with George's daughter hiding his car keys to block him from being there with her for her baby's birth. Although George did eventually make it to Melissa's bedside in the nick of time, he didn't stick around long, jetting off on holiday the following day.

Left alone with their newborn baby daughter, Melissa found herself navigating life as a single mother once more. Although George did show up on occasion, even taking their daughter to his family home, she quickly learned that his involvement didn't come without a catch.

She explained: "He still wanted to sleep with me. I wasn't going to be his mistress anymore."

Thankfully, Melissa has since found happiness again - this time with a man who wasn't already taken. Despite having abandoned her, George apparently wasn't best pleased at all about Melissa moving on, and even went to drastic legal measures.

Melissa revealed: "He actually took me to court, trying to get full custody of our daughter! He didn’t win, thank God, but it was a nightmare."

Nowadays, Melissa and George do their best to keep things amicable for the sake of their child, but it isn't always easy. She confessed: "We exchange Christmas presents and try to get along. In the end, it's always the 'other woman' who suffers the most. George went back to his wife, but I was left to pick up the pieces."

In an Instagram post that left many fans stunned, Dave revealed that he plans on being a 'loving and supportive parent' to his youngest daughter, and is now working to 'regain the trust' of his wife Jordyn and three eldest children, Violet Maye, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

He wrote: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."
