Although admittedly a little bit of a splurge, the beauty of a trouser suit is that you can wear it so many different ways for plenty of different occasions. You can wear the two together with a statement blouse underneath, or ditch the shirt altogether for a more sultry look.

You can also, of course, wear each piece on its own. Pair your trousers with a cosy knit or sparkly top depending on the event, or add the blazer to a simple pair of jeans or over a sequin mini skirt for an added luxe-looking layer.

However one did take issue with the sizing, and said: “I loved the look of this jacket online but sadly, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations when it arrived. The colour was great and the body size good, however, the material was very stiff, especially for brushed cotton. This meant the jacket sat awkwardly on the body and didn’t hang very well. Unfortunately the sleeves were incredibly short too, about 2-3 inches too short. I’m afraid it was returned, which was such a shame.”
