Weakest Link star Anne Robinson reveals question men ask about her £9,000 facelift

by Chiara Fiorillo · The MirrorFormer The Weakest Link host Anne Robinson has revealed that men still ask her about the £9,000 facelift she had 20 years ago.
The 79-year-old television presenter had the procedure in 2004 but said that "for ages" men would approach her to find out where she had the procedure done. The host debuted her new look while starring on the game show and said she maintained her wrinkle-free look by getting regular Botox injections.
In an interview with The Oldie magazine this week, Anne, who hosted The Weakest Link from 2000 to 2012, said: "For ages afterwards, men would come up to me and have a serious conversation and then at the end say, 'My wife wanted to know if I could ask you where you got your facelift.'" And she revealed the topic was also discussed during political conversations as she recalled "Gordon Brown's female sidekick" asking her about details on the facelift.
She said: "Gordon Brown's female sidekick had a serious conversation with me about inheritance tax at a party and then at the end said, 'How much did your face cost?'" But Anne confessed that she regretted debuting her facelift on TV shortly after getting it done, as she was mocked by the public.
In a chat with Angela Scanlon's TV show "Ask Me Anything", she said she wished she had waited longer before turning to the screen. She said: "When you have cosmetic surgery, it’s a bit like taking a leg of lamb out of the oven. You have to let it rest for a bit."
However, the TV host said she doesn't regret getting the facelift and admitting to it. He said: "When I was first on television there were quite a few presenters who were the same age as me and now they are all younger. It seems easier to just be open about it."
Earlier this year, Anne confirmed she is now dating Queen Camilla's ex husband, retired cavalry officer Andrew Parker Bowles, 84. But after being asked whether the rumours were true, she replied: "Yes. Full stop. Mind your own business."
Anne previously hosted Channel 4 quiz show Countdown, becoming its sixth presenter and the first female to take the role, before stepping down in 2022 having recorded 265 episodes of the show. She was previously married to the late Charles Wilson, a former journalist and newspaper executive, until 1973 and got from divorced her second husband, John Penrose, in 2007.
