Shaq Fortnite skin – release time and expected price for the new DJ Diesel skins and emotes

Fortnite's item shop is about to be on the receiving end of a Shaq attack.

The item shop in Fortnite is a fountain of goodies for players this season, and it hasn't ended yet, with a bizarre new item collection set to drop today.

Fortnite’s cosmetic game has been strong during Chapter 5 Season 4. Not only has the Marvel Battle Pass been treating fans to a plethora of recognisable faces, but the item shop has been coming through recently, with the arrival of Iron Man and the Iron Spider sending fans into a frenzy. It makes you wonder what Epic Games could do to really throw players off and make them want to keep their wallets in their pockets.

Skins are a huge part of the game’s economy, and it plays this hand pretty openly – and sometimes, it’ll come through with one hell of a wildcard. And it looks like we’ve gotten a new one in the game, as the game has revealed in a bizarre new trailer that Shaquille O’Neil, known also as DJ Diesel, is coming to the game in the form of a new skin and collection of cosmetics.

Shaq Fortnite skin release time

The Shaq Fortnite skin is coming to the item shop on Friday, October 4 at 8pm EDT / 5pm PDT, and Saturday, October 5 at 1am BST. Once this time hits, the two Shaq skins and the collection of cosmetics will be available to be found in the item shop in their own tab.

The new cosmetics dropping in the shop are:

• Shaq (DJ Diesel) Outfit and Festival Headliner skin variant
• Super Shaq Outfit
• One N Twos Emote
• Shaq Shimmy Emote

Shaq Fortnite skin estimated price

There’s no word yet on just how much we can expect these cosmetics to cost, but judging by recent trends in the item shop, it’s likely that the two Shaq Fortnite skins will run you between 1,500 and 2,000 V-Bucks, and the emotes will be between 500 and 800 V-Bucks.

With that in mind, we can likely expect a full bundle of every cosmetic to cost around 3,600 V-Bucks. It’s one hell of a price to run, meaning that if you want everything, you’re best off buying a bundle of 5,000 V-Bucks for £27.99 / $36.99 / $AU47.95. It’s a lot of money for simple cosmetics, but if you’re a Shaq superfan (we’ve never met one, but you do you), it’s your best option to get everything that the store will offer. Talk about a Shaq attack to the wallet.
