No Christmas party is complete without some sparkle, but if you’re not much of a party dress type of person, trying to find a suitably festive outfit can be a struggle. Thankfully there’s one top that’s been trending lately, and it’s perfect for wearing with anything from a satin midi skirt to jeans or trousers.

Everywhere you turn there seems to be a sequin-covered blouse adorned with satin bows up the front or back, and it’s perfect for combining chic style with festive sparkles. And now, Marks and Spencer has launched its very own version for £45, with the Sequin V-Neck Blouse already starting to sell out quickly.

It’s available in both black and white sequins, with both colourways featuring black velvet bows covering the hook and eye fastenings up the front. The bow adds a little playfulness to the blouse as well as giving it a chic, quiet luxury-inspired twist,

The blouse itself is covered from top to bottom in sequins, whilst the fabric is lightweight with a hint of stretch to make sure it's comfortable enough to wear all night long – perfect for throwing some questionable shapes on the dance floor. It has a regular, relaxed fit and long sleeves, with a flattering V-neckline.

You could just as easily pair the sequin blouse with some embellished jeans and a pair of kitten heels as you could with a leather mini skirt and some knee high boots. It would also look effortlessly elegant with a satin midi skirt or some wide leg trousers and a pair of metallic platforms, so you can wear it to plenty of different festive events.

You can also pick it up in petite and regular lengths, with sizes from 6-24 available. However several sizes are already sold out, and the M&S website indicates its already been sold more than 100 times in the last 24 hours, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on it!

Marks and Spencer’s new festive partywear has already been a hit with shoppers, with Dawn French’s glitzy party dress from the new Christmas advert going down a storm. You can pick up Dawn’s festive frock for under £50, with the Textured V-Neck Midi Relaxed Dress, £45, said to ‘channel effortless glamour’.

The black midi dress is made from a shimmering textured fabric, making it really understated but elegant. Designed in a relaxed fit with a flattering v-neckline and ‘sophisticated’ half button placket, it falls into a tiered skirt, while gathering at the cuffs gives the long sleeves some volume for an on-trend silhouette. The dress has been lined for comfort and coverage, which makes it ideal for women of all ages.

If you’ve got your eye on the sequin blouse, however, but have missed your size, or if you’re looking for something similar that you can wear on repeat, Monsoon’s Belinda Bow Sequin Jacket has an almost identical look. With long sleeves and black satin bows down the front it looks just like the M&S blouse, however it’s thicker and more structured, and can be worn as jacket or on its own as a top.
