Phillip Schofield has sparked speculation over the identity of "one or two" stars who he claimed had "an affair".

The disgraced This Morning star, 62, made his TV return this week in the Channel 5 series Cast Away. It saw him spend 10 days alone on a remote island in Madagascar following his shock exit from ITV last year. He admitted to having an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger colleague, prompting him to quit showbiz.

During the second episode, Phillip reflected on the affair scandal that led to his exit from the broadcaster. He said: "Shamed, disgraced Phillip Schofield who had an affair. Strangely, I think another TV presenter or two might have done exactly the same thing. Difference is, heterosexual."

He then added that he believes multi-year age gaps are "not an unusual thing in the gay world ". The former presenter also claimed he thought the public reaction to his affair would have been different if he had been with a woman. He said: "If that had been the case with me and it had been a woman. Pat on the back. ''Well done mate'."

Phillip also appeared to put further strain on his relationship with former co-host and best friend Holly Willoughby. He decided to point the finger at "three sh**s of showbiz" in his new show. The 62-year-old appeared to put his dramatic fall from grace on a trio of people.

He said: "I think there are only three s**ts [of showbiz]." Phillip then pointed out that one was a "coward who never stepped up in Queuegate," while another "is a coward because they never stepped up when I was being battered". He went on to claim the third "is just brand-orientated" as he added: "Not what you expect, not what you think you're going to get."

Phillip did not name any individuals, however speculation has mounted that he could be taking aim at Holly. He hasn't mentioned the former This Morning star at all during the series, despite once being close friends and working together for over a decade. It has been rumoured Phillip has also hit out at This Morning editor Martin Frizell.

It appears Phillip could have slammed Martin for letting him take the fall over 'Queugate'. Phillip and Holly were both accused of skipping the queue to see the Queen's lying in state following her death. The former This Morning host no longer follows Martin on social media.

Other targets could include ITV chief Dame Carolyn McCall. She labelled his affair as 'deeply inappropriate'. Speaking on his show, Phillip said: "They know how important that was to me. They know when you throw someone under a bus, you've got to have a really bloody good reason to do it. Brand, ambition is not good enough.

"People can be fake. They can be so fake with you when it's all going well, and suddenly utter, utter betrayal. There are a lot of amazing people in morning television." He mentioned Ant and Dec as well as Joanna Lumley on the show, while avoiding Holly. Phillip added more fuel to the speculation as he said: "When you throw someone under a bus, you've got to have a really bloody good reason to do it.

"I got into telly because I love the nuts and bolts of telly, I never wanted to be famous. I'm not fussed about that. I miss parts of it. I miss most of it, I'm honest. But there are bits that I really, really, really don't miss. You learn a lot about people. I don't miss that."

He later added: "I think another presenter or two might have done the same thing, difference is heterosexual."
