ITV Emmerdale spoilers tease love triangle as two villagers reignite romance

Love is in the air again next week in Emmerdale as upcoming scenes will see two former lovers share a charged moment - but one of them is already involved with someone else.

A new love triangle will be taking shape over in Emmerdale next week as one legend will attract the attention of a former suitor - who is already in a complicated situation with another woman.

After an ill-fated affair with Wendy Posner, Liam Cavanagh (played by Jonny McPherson) became romantically involved with newcomer Ella Forster and the pair have since been stuck in an on-off scenario. But next week, he's launched back into Chas Dingle's orbit as the pair are due for an intense moment.

The Woolpack bar manager played by Lucy Pargeter once romped with Liam but the romance was soon swept under the rug and seemingly forgotten when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Chas has since remained single and on the side-lines, away from all the drama as she's mostly been seen pulling pints in the Woolie, but scenes due to air on ITV could be bringing love her way once again.

Coming up in the Yorkshire-based programme, Chas consults Liam as she tells him she is worried over a new rash. The village GP checks her out but, in an unexpected move, he lies to Ella (Paula Lane) about spending time with her. In later scenes, Liam and Chas share a charged look. But will it really evolve?

As mentioned, Chas and Liam share a past but his attention has most recently been turned towards Ella - until he found out she had murdered her childhood best friend. How could Ella react to Liam and Chas' reunion?

Over on social media, however, viewers of the Yorkshire-based programme have been secretly keen for months on Chas and Liam becoming a couple. "Don’t know if it’s just me but I liked the idea of Liam and Chas being a couple, I hope this gets revisited in the future", one notably wrote on Reddit.

Another had responded at the time: "I hope Liam and Chas end up together", just as third echoed: "I've found myself actually kind of cheering for Chas/Liam over Liam/Ella. I do think Liam could do better than Chas but I've noticed some natural chemistry developing between them in their scenes."

But a second couple could also become official as Emmerdale vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) will also be giving in to temptation again, after romping for the first time in scenes aired last week.

Unfortunately for them, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) was quick to rumble them after spotting her pal Laurel's coat at his home in the eponymous village. Could she try and get in their way?
