Coronation Street star Alan Halsall may have to pull out of certain Bushtucker Trials and tasks while on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, due to a knee injury that has resurfaced.

According to reports, the soap star was struck down with the knee injury and underwent an anterior cruciate ligament surgery, which forced him to take time off from filming the ITV soap. And now a year on, the 42 year old star, who is best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs, had to pull out of a padel competition due to the injury.

And this is certain to have an impact on his time in the Australian jungle later this month. And show bosses will have to pull him out of tasks on medical grounds. A source told The Sun: "It’s fine now but he just has to be really careful. He might not be able to take part in some of the trials, bosses are currently working out if he will be ruled out of any. It’s a huge blow for Alan because he was looking forward to throwing himself into it and now has to be a bit wary."

Alan kept fans up to date at the time of his surgery. At the time, he posted a picture of himself in hospital and wrote: "ACL Reconstruction surgery. Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there."

He added: "Thank you to the amazing! Staff at Oaklands xx ..and also Thanks to my very own nurse Ratched @missdrewmerry93 Any rehab tips or advise??" And it was also reported by the Mirror that he missed out on the series last year due to his injury.

A source told us at the time: "It's a big blow, but there's no way he can go to Australia – his surgeon would have a fit. Alan needs to recover fully and then maybe he can take part next year. It's a massive shame because everyone was really looking forward to having him on the show, but these things happen."

Alan will be joining a host of celebrities including Tulisa, former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, former boxer Barry McQuigan and social media star GK Barry. Alan's medical woes comes after GK Barry was criticised by fans over her "harmful" interview with adult content creator Bonnie Blue, on her podcast Saving Grace.

Since the backlash, the star whose real name is Grace Keeling, has deleted all trace of the controversial episode. And now former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has waded in on the discussion. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, she told us: "Speaking exclusively to the Mirror she says: "I've not watched the podcast. I found out about it yesterday morning [Monday] in a meeting, and they started talking about Bonnie Blue and I just couldn't believe it."

She added: "Why are people like that having her on [the podcast]? Why are you publicising it? It's not what I want my daughter to come across. I was on Geordie Shore, and I thought that was bad enough but now there's things like this happening. I'm sorry but Geordie Shore is nothing compared to this."
