A new optical illusion is leaving people scratching their heads as they struggle to find the three geckos hiding in plain sight on the stone wall - and it's harder than it looks

At first glance, the Reddit post above might look like a simple picture of a stone wall. However, although it may not look like it, there's actually something else hidden in the image. Somewhere among the rough stone pattern are three geckos that camouflage perfectly into the colour of the surface they're resting on.

Specifically, the reptiles are house geckos - also known as wall geckos - and are known for climbing the walls of houses in search of insects and being attracted to porch lighting. But can you locate all three geckos in the picture?

They are very well hidden, so it's not as easy as it would seem, but with some patience and some careful scanning, you should be able to find them all. Take as long as you need to find them, and when you're ready, scroll down to find the answer.

Answer

All three geckos are located in the top half of the image. The first two are at the very top of the wall, just before the roof begins. One is to the left of the picture, and the other is closer to the middle. The third and final reptile can be found just above the light, hiding away in the shadow.

Commenters on the post were quick to praise the poster for their tricky puzzle, while others said the geckos were "easy" to spot since they have to deal with them on the walls of their houses all the time.
