Prince George's 'favourite food' that's led to kitchen antics with Kate and Charlotte
Prince George has a taste for a classic Italian dish that he shares with his sister Princess Charlotte, as the young royals enjoy getting hands-on in the kitchen
by Georgia Diebelius, Rebecca Robinson · The MirrorPrince George, the young Royal foodie, has a special place in his heart for an Italian classic, and it's led to some adorable culinary bonding with mum Princess Kate and sister Princess Charlotte.
Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli revealed the little prince's favourite meal after a chat with dad Prince William, who let slip George's top dinner pick.
Zilli shared: "[William's] amazing - I'm waiting for the call because apparently his little boy's favourite is spaghetti carbonara, so I'm waiting for the call to go and cook it for him."
Speaking to Femail, he added, "[William] is an absolute gent. He'll come over to you, speak to you about - he knows everything about everyone."
Zilli continued to praise the Duke of Cambridge, saying, "That's what I like about people like that, before they come over to you they make sure they know who you are and what you do for a living, it's a very intelligent thing to do. He's such a great, great guy, I'm a big fan of the Royal Family."
The chef is also keen to whip up his signature dish for the young prince, quipping: "If George has my carbonara, he will never have another one, so I need to go and make it, let's get the ball rolling, send me to the palace to cook."
It's not just spaghetti carbonara that tickles Prince George's taste buds; the Princess of Wales has said that he and Princess Charlotte enjoy making a 'cheesy pasta' together at home, reports the Express.
In a heartwarming revelation back in February 2019, Princess Kate opened up to Matthew Kleiner-Mann from the Ivy Learning Trust about her children's culinary skills. He recalled: "She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her. They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff."
During a visit to Luke's Community Centre near Knotty Ash, Liverpool, Kate shared more about her hands-on approach with George and Charlotte in the kitchen: "I've done that with George and Charlotte - making pizza dough. They love it because they can get their hands messy."
The young royals seem to have quite the normal taste buds, with Princess Charlotte sharing her brother's love for Italian food and also being partial to curry. While visiting Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, before their 2019 tour of Pakistan, Kate revealed she often cooks curry at home but keeps it less spicy for the kids.
However, she pointed out: "Charlotte is pretty good with heat". The then-Duchess also mentioned Charlotte's fondness for olives as a snack.
Prince Louis, too, has shown a preference for curry, alongside a particular liking for beetroot and other veggies. On a Mary Berry Christmas TV special in 2019, Kate divulged that her youngest son is a big fan of beetroot, saying: "We've got carrots, beans, beetroot a massive favourite Louis absolutely loves beetroot."
