Britain's Got Talent is back for another year as the show launches earlier than ever.

Auditions for the annual talent show have kicked off in Blackpool with plenty of hopefuls aiming to get their hands on the £250,000 prize. The winner also gets the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Despite going since 2007, there have been plenty of changes throughout this time to the show's format and this year is no different. The show is in for a major shake up for its 2025 series.

Fans of the programme can expect it to grace our screens two months earlier than usual for several months of Britain's most talented people showing off their skills. Here's a look at what changes you will see on BGT.

Earlier launch date

Despite auditions starting this month, you will have to wait until next year for the show to air on ITV. However, you won't have to wait until the usual air date which is April - instead, BGT will be on our screens from February.

Show creator and head judge Simon Cowell confirmed the series would be starting earlier. He also said that the whole of the programme will air for a total of four months

Different weekly programmes

2025 will see a switch up on what days of the week Britain's Got Talent will air. Super fans will know that the show usually airs each Saturday and Sunday during the auditions stage but this will be different this time around.

This series will instead air each Saturday nights. Also, the five semi-finals episodes, which usually take place across one week airing nightly, will now air weekly.

During the touring auditions BGT is starting in Blackpool. Talking about the 2025 changes, a source told The Sun: "Strictly’s annual jaunt to Blackpool is one of the show’s ‘special moments’ and is widely seen as a milestone for the contestants.

"But now that trip will be replicated by its ITV rival, there’s little doubt they’re trying to encroach on their territory. It’s yet another move to take on the dominance of Strictly on Saturday night telly."

Guest judges

The judging lineup will remain the same with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli all returning for another year. However, it has been revealed that Bruno has to take a bit of time off which means there is a guest judge.

Boxer and musician KSI is being handed a golden buzzer on BGT, even through he is only set to appear in one episode as a guest judge. The 30-year-old social media star is set to fill in for Bruno Tonioli in the forthcoming 18th season of ITV's long-running talent show.

A source told The Sun: "Bosses were keen for KSI to appear much like a full-time judge would, given he’s due to stand in for a number of days. It means there will be one more Golden Buzzer act this year, with the remaining judges and hosts Ant and Dec also given an opportunity to press it. It will no doubt make the finals more exciting, to see which judge is best at picking a winner."
