I picked up 5 looks from Michelle Keegan's new Very range– there's one I don't want to take off

Our head of fashion Zoe got her hands on five items from Michelle Keegan's new autumnal Very collection drop, and she says there's one look in particular that she's going to be wearing on repeat this cold season

As a millennial woman, I grew up with the likes of Cheryl Cole, Michelle Keegan and Jennifer Aniston providing all the fashion inspiration a girl could need. Because of this, I'm still influenced to this day by the things those icons wear. Luckily for me, Michelle Keegan seems to get more and more fashionable with age.

Everything the 37-year-old posts on Instagram I want to buy. And when she announced her latest drop with Very.co.uk, I naturally wanted to get my hands on some key pieces. This autumnal edit includes everything you need to stay cosy in the colder seasons, as well as plenty of chic pieces that would be perfect for upcoming parties and events.

There are faux fur coats, reimagined bodycon dresses and colourful tailoring, as well as staples like luxe-looking knitwear and denim for every occasion. With 41 pieces to choose from, prices starting at £22, and each piece coming in sizes UK6 to UK20, Michelle has made sure there's something for everyone.

Me? I narrowed the 41 pieces down to the five I loved the most and got my hands on them to review them for you.

Textured Wrap Short Trench Coat in Grey, £70

Textured Wrap Short Trench Coat in Grey( Image: Zoe Cripps / Very)

Zoe wears: Size 10

This chic grey coat, made from soft faux wool with a textured finish, features an oversized fit perfect for layering over your favourite knitwear. Classic trench details like a back storm flap, shoulder epaulettes, wide notch lapels, and belted cuffs add timeless appeal, while double-breasted button fastenings and a tie belt ensure a secure fit.

I picked it up because most of my autumn/winter jackets are long-line, so this gives a bit of a point of difference. I usually size right up in jackets but this promised an oversized fit, so I went for a 10. I'm happy I did because it definitely is an oversized cut, but still very flattering because of the belt. It's very warm, nicely lined and goes perfectly with a pair of wide leg work trousers.

Premium Wool Blend Co-ord, £35 for the joggers and £35 for the hoodie

Zoe wears: Size 10 joggers and size M in the hoodie

These brown joggers, made from super-soft knit fabric, feature a trendy wide-leg design in a versatile neutral tone that pairs with everything. A ribbed waistband offers a snug, comfortable fit, and they pair perfectly with the matching knitted co-ord hoodie, which features a drawstring hood, long sleeves for full coverage, and stretchy ribbed trim at the cuffs and hemline for added comfort.

I'm not actually the biggest knitwear fan because I overheat in it. I was also concerned the fabric would feel scratchy on my skin, but it really doesn't. In fact, I never want to take this co-ord off. It's so chic, I can wear it out for a relaxed day without feeling like I'm in PJs and, most importantly, the 'joggers' are long enough for my 5ft7 height. If you're any shorter than 5ft5 I would caution that these might run a little long on you.

Wide Leg Blue Jeans, £35

Zoe wears: Size 8

These wide-cut jeans are designed to elongate the legs and offer a flattering fit that can easily be dressed up or down. Made from classic blue wash denim with vintage-inspired fading, they feature a high waist, fly closure with a secure top button, and a classic five-pocket design. The jeans hug the hips while maintaining a loose fit through the legs for a relaxed look.

I hate buying jeans because I either feel like a blob in them or they're too baggy in one area and too tight in another. Michelle has put some magic into these – they make my legs look longer and they fit perfectly.

Bandeau Textured Top in Grey, £30

Zoe wears: Size 8

This top comes as part of a three-piece set, but I wanted to style it with the blue wide-leg jeans instead of with the matching trousers and blazer. I struggle a little with my sizing for tops because I have a medium-sized bust with a small waist (not a humblebrag, I promise, my concerns are with my thighs), bandeaus often prove to be too baggy under the bust or too tight over it.

I love how the zip on the back goes right down to the bottom, meaning it's easy to get on over my head. It's also got a nice internal structure to it, meaning I feel secure in the fact there's no slip hazard. My only slight complaint is the top is more cropped on me than it looks on Michelle, and I would have preferred it to be a little longer.
