Fans and gamers are rejoicing after Netflix confirmed three new series coming to the popular streaming platform, which are all adaptions of popular video games.

The company have been sharing news and first looks at their upcoming roster of shows during what they are referring to as Geeked Week. This includes the reveal of three new animated shows, made in partnership with game developers of popular series beloved by many.

The first was a reveal of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, which stars Liev Schreiber, recently seen in Netflix series The Perfect Couple, in the lead role of Sam Fisher. While less than a minute in length, the trailer teases Schrieber's take on an iconic voice.

No date was confirmed with Netflix simply stating it is coming soon. Gamers have been waiting a long time for the latest title in the Splinter Cell series but they will at least get a reunion with Fisher thanks to this collaboration between Netflix and Ubisoft Film & Television.

There hasn't been a Splinter Cell game for more than 10 years but fans can look forward to a new series

Fans were immediately excited with one posting on X, formerly Twitter: "Oh hello old friend." Another agreed as they responded: "I'm looking forward to watching this...Been a hot minute since we've seen Sam Fisher."

That wasn't all though as Netflix followed up that announcement by also revealing a series based on the Capcom franchise, Devil May Cry. Also coming from Studio Mir, the series is created by Adi Shankar who worked as an Executive Producer on the Castlevania adaptation for Netflix.

The trailer gives us a taste of lead character's Dante's demon hunting skills and confirms an April 2025 release window.

One fan was so excited about all the announcements they simply replied: "We won." Another said: "Wow! One of my favourite video game series! Thank you Capcom and Netflix!"

Netflix also shared the news that they were working in partnership with CD Projekt Red the developers behind the popular Witcher games for a new animation show based in the world of Cyberpunk and told fans to stay tuned for updates.

The game Cyberpunk 2077 starred the likes of Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves while the previous Netflix series, Edgerunners which expanded on the game's world was also well received.

There was also a new two minute trailer for the latest animation series based on the Tomb Raider franchise. Marvel star Hayley Atwell will play the lead role in The Legend of Lara Croft which is coming to Netflix on October 10 .
