Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been dating for almost a year now with the couple's relationship seemingly going from strength to strength, but his mum Donna has now spoken out

Donna Kelce has confessed "they don't tell us anything" as she summed up the private nature of the relationship of her son, Travis and his girlfriend Taylor Swift, in a simple five-word admission.

The mum of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis and Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason commented on her son's relationship with the pop star, which has been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks and months. Donna's statement seems to have only fuelled the rumour mill.

Speaking to People Magazine, Donna shared her thoughts on what might be next for her son and Swift, discussing their possible costume plans for Halloween. The 72-year-old left fans hanging as she hinted at exciting news for the couple, without revealing any specifics.

"I can't wait to see what it's going to be," Donna said, before before leaving fans guessing with her next comment about how secretive the couple are about their future. "They're tight-lipped, they don't tell us anything," she added.

Kelce and Swift's relationship has been a hot topic recently, especially as the pop star has missed several Chiefs games despite being a regular at Arrowhead Stadium last season. The pair were seen getting cosy in a private box at the U.S. Open tennis final last month.

Following the Chiefs' 26-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints, Kelce whisked Swift away to his place for a brief retreat as Kansas City enters a bye week in NFL play. But apparently, Swift was left hanging at the airport for upwards of an hour when the tight end was delayed.

Kelce marked his 35th birthday on Sunday, yet Swift wasn't there for the festivities. His mum Donna shed some light on why the pop star couldn't make it, as she's gearing up for a string of live shows although she did make it back for the Saints match.

"I think she was a little busy with some of her concerts coming up, she needs to practice and stuff," said Donna. "But she was definitely there for the game."

Glamour magazine has celebrated Donna in their 'Women of the Year' issue, honouring the mothers behind the celebrities. Alongside Beyonces mother, Tina Knowles, Billie Eilishs mum, Maggie Baird, and Selena Gomezs mother, Mandy Teefey, they delve into "motherhood, stardom, ambition and what's next".

Gracing the cover, Kelce beams as she stands between Knowles and Baird, while Teefey is seated before them. Her sons have been big supporters of her magazine feature, although she confessed to keeping a little secret from them.

Donna spilled the beans on her hush-hush collaboration with Glamour, revealing: "I wasn't allowed to tell them," but assured that her family is always in her corner, saying, "But basically they're very happy with anything and they support me in whatever I do, so they're just, they're like, 'Mamma. Wow.' It's like one of those shocks for me too."
