Gogglebox duo Georgia and Abbie hit with huge warning over 'toxic' item
Georgia Bell and Abbie Lynn sparked concern during this Friday's Gogglebox as eagle-eyed viewers spotted a dangerous detail in their array of snacks and issued a warning.
by Laura Carreno · The MirrorViewers were alarmed when Georgia Bell and Abbie Lynn appeared to be putting the life of one of their pets in danger and they were immediately warned.
Regular watchers of the Channel 4 programme will know that the pair of best friends have been Gogglebox regulars since 2018, with Georgia's grey Staffordshire Bull Terrier Vinnie often settling down with her on the sofa.
However, during this Friday's (November 1) instalment of the popular show, Georgia, 24, and Abbie, 23, were in the company of a white Samoyed dog and while the four-legged friend earned a wave of enthusiastic comments, other TV fans grew increasingly concerned for the pooch's well-being.
This was due to a bowl of grapes in proximity to the dog, featuring among the snacks Abbie Lynn and Georgia Bell had organised, potentially unaware that the fruit is toxic to dogs.
A multitude of viewers swarmed to Twitter, now X, to warn the pair of friends, with one of them writing: "Get those grapes off that table, they’re toxic to dogs." Another echoed: "Georgia and Abbie have grapes on the table again, hope that lovely dog doesn’t eat any."
And this isn't the first time Abbie, along with fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner, has been called out for her choice of snack. Earlier this month, one TV watcher took to X: "Not good for Ellie and Abbie to have the grapes on the table which are toxic to dogs."
While dogs are able to eat some fruits in the likes of apples, blueberries and bananas, other fruits like grapes, which are recognised as one of the most toxic fruits, avocados, cherries and tomatoes are known to be toxic to them. Vegetables like asparagus, mushrooms, particularly wild, and onions are also on the list of foods that could cause serious harm to a dog if ingested.
Last year, Abbie and Georgia came under fire when they couldn't remember the name of a Charles Dickens book, while watching the BBC's mini-series, Great Expectations, based on one of the author's hit novels.
This prompted Abbie to ask: "Do you know who Charles Dickens is?" to which Georgia responded: "Do I, hell? I'm sure he writes a book called Twit and Tw*t," Abbie continued. "... Or Twit and Tw*t... Twit and Twig or something."
Fans were gobsmacked at the duo's confusion and took to social media to question how they don't know who Charles Dickens is. "Even I know who Charles Dickens is," one X user exclaimed.
Another confused viewer questioned: "Why are they all acting as if they have zero clue about Great Expectations ? They must know the story!! They must have heard of it!" One fan continued: "Imagine never having heard of Charles Dickens."
