Black Ops 6 Citadelle Des Morts – Call of Duty announces first post-launch Zombies map with new perk
Black Ops 6 is getting its first post-launch Zombies map, and it's looking to be a real medieval blast.
by Joseph Kime · The MirrorHere we go – the first DLC map for Black Ops 6 is on its way, and it looks to be an exciting European getaway.
Call of Duty has struggled to nail down the Zombies experience since the ‘good old days’ of World at War and the original Black Ops game – but it seems that Black Ops 6 has gotten closer to capturing its magic than ever before. The series has experimented with the Zombies formula for years, giving them exosuits in Advanced Warfare and turning them loose with an engine that made the whole experience feel strange in Infinite Warfare. Luckily, though, as Treyarch continues to impress with Black Ops 6, and with the recent Warzone changeover release date, it feels as though it’s nailing the collision of the old and the new with its two Zombies maps, Liberty Falls and Terminus.
However, it now looks like we’re in for far more Zombies experience as Activision keeps up the momentum, revealing details about the next map we’ll get to slaughter the undead in – and it looks like we’re getting medieval on their asses. Here’s what we know about the Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts map.
Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts Zombies map – everything we know
Treyarch has revealed in a new tweet, and on its latest roadmap reveal blog post, that Zombies will be receiving its first DLC map in the shape of medieval castle, Citadelle des Morts (which translates to Citadel of the Dead, if you can believe it). The team has revealed that there will also be a new Perk, Field Upgrade, and Ammo Mod joining the mode too, along with 18 new Augments, three new GobbleGums, a Hand Cannon Support Weapon, and new Wonder Weapons. The team hasn’t yet revealed if these features contain returning items (Perks especially, with the return of Double-Tap Root Beer yet to materialise), but we’re likely going to have to wait and see.
Speaking on the map itself, Treyarch has had the following to say about the experience that the new Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts map will offer:
“After the shocking revelations at the culmination of the Terminus Main Quest, Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey follow the uncovered clues to Europe, and discover an abandoned castle – a 'citadel of the dead' if you will – that offers up a host of [redacted], ghoulish horrors [redacted], medieval village with hidden [redacted] abound!”
The map will also feature a new type of enemy, which given the game’s debut of the Parasites, Vermin, and Amalgam, is likely to be a grim, fleshy treat. It's good news, too, that more than one Wonder Weapon is set to come to the game at some point this season, so we can tear whatever this threat is apart limb-by-limb.
The blog post states that the map will be coming to the game mid-season, which means we’re likely to see the Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts map at some point in December – but for those who simply can’t wait, the Hand Cannon and Directed Mode will be coming to the game when the new season launches on Thursday, November 14. Prepare yourself, and then prepare yourself again.
