Frank Skinner has not allowed his axe from Absolute Radio to stop him from coming up with new projects as he's set to bring a revived version of his show in a podcast form.

The comedian, 67, was once given Absolute Radio's Saturday breakfast slot, back when he fronted The Frank Skinner Show alongside Emily Dean and Pierre Novellie. However, the programme was brutally axed in March, 2024, bringing an end to 15 years glittering years on the radio for Frank Skinner.

But months have since passed, leaving him plenty of time to work on his return and his comeback to the mic is set to take place in just days. The presenter will host a podcast version of his popular radio show from October 11, 2024, and his former co-stars will be joining him.

Frank Skinner has partnered up with podcast-hosting network Adelicious for his new project, Frank Off The Radio, The Frank Skinner Podcast. Speaking about the new podcast, he said in a defiant statement: "It’s like in those old movies when the kids get rejected by the big theatre and one of them says ‘Why don’t we do the show right here in the barn?’ I think the barn will suit us fine."

Taking to Instagram in a recent post, Frank teased his comeback ahead of time last week. Frank shared a charming snap of himself sat alongside his two former radio co-stars.

The image showed him sitting with a hot drink in his hand while Emily covered her mouth and Pierre was sat giggling like a dormouse. Frank simply captioned the image: "Band getting back together?" - and the other two shared the same image with similar captions.

Loyal fans reacted to the teasing snap with delight - with many saying they had turned their backs on his old radio station after they put him out to pasture. One fan replied to type: "I've boycotted Absolute since they canned you mate. What were they thinking?" Another wrote: "Was a Saturday morning must, whoever decommissioned the show should have gone."

And others begged the comedy legend for more details as they couldn't stand to be teased. One wrote: "Yes!! Please?! Pretty Please?! Your show/podcast left a hole no one can fill - replaying old ones when I need a fix." And another gasped: "Please say that the three of you are doing something new together. We miss you on the radio."

This came after Frank announced he would be leaving Absolute Radio with a pre-recorded message. His exit had been scheduled for May, 2024: "My manager (called)... you know every year, about this time, we've just celebrated our 15th anniversary on the show, so obviously that means the new contract is coming, and every year I do self-deprecating jokes about the fact that we probably won't get it renewed."

"Guess what?! Yeah, we didn't! So, um, we're not just going now, I'm not going to say bye and that's the end we've got, like, several other, we've got some notice to serve, but um yeah, but no that was um... that's it!'"
