Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke has hinted he has cut ties with former co-star Giovanni Pernice.

The professional dancing pair have appeared on the hit BBC dancing contest together for a number of years, while also hosting a travel show and touring the UK as a duo. However, it appears their time together might have come to an end. The travel show was shelved following accusations of bullying on Strictly aimed at Giovanni - allegations he has denied.

However, as Anton and Giovanni completed their tour together, the Strictly judge confirmed he is ready to go it alone. Speaking to The One Show on Wednesday, Anton gushed over his latest venture. He revealed his new tour, titled Showman, which kicks off in October. He also confirmed his new book.

During the conversation, there wasn't much time for a mention of Giovanni. Instead, he praised the latest line-up - which no longer includes the Italian, who will now feature on a similar show in his native country. Teasing what fans can expect from his show, Anton continued: "This is song, dance and a bit of chat as well."

"So we open again in October, and we go all the way through til Christmas. But this is exciting, this is my favourite thing, really, standing on stage, singing and dancing and sort of in conversation with the audience as well. They send me questions up via tape. He labelled the show "great fun" after host Alex Jones asked if his unscripted set could prove risky. "A different show every night, but during Strictly, of course, everyone's got an opportunity to ask me whatever they want," he added.

Opening up on his book dreams, he also added: "So I've always wanted to write a sort of a spy novel, and I thought when I started writing novels, they were going to be spy novels, and then I got nominated for a romantic novel of the year, and realised they weren't quite as spy-ie as I thought."
