Fortnite's next live event is coming in hot, and it's going to be a musical bonanza worth beholding.

Epic Games is about to go big with its latest Fortnite live event, and we can’t blame them for it. After all, the first Fortnite OG season was the biggest thing that ever happened to the game, plunging players back into the Fortnite they remembered from the game’s launch, and they’re keen to weaponise even more nostalgia with Fortnite Remix Chapter 2. Heading straight back to 2019 is a genius play from Fortnite, but with a remixed twist, it’s hard to resist its charms as its own entity, and after a massive Chapter 5 Season 4 and Fortnitemares 2024 event, we’re clearly in for even more treats.

The game will be flipped upside down for players, but first, there's a live event countdown to endure before the big live event, which will serve as the red carpet for the next month of Fortnite gameplay.

But what lies in store for us in the event? Here’s what to expect from the upcoming Fortnite live event, Fortnite Remix The Prelude.

What to expect from the Fortnite live event

The upcoming Fortnite live event – Remix The Prelude – is expected to be one hell of a show, but there's a lot we simply don’t know right now. Leakers are on the job, though, offering a little peek behind the curtain – here’s everything that reliable Fortnite leaker @Hypex has revealed to be a part of the live event:

  • There will be a cinematic video that will take place at Restored Reels, projected onto the screen at the POI
  • Will feature a 'focus' button so that players can zoom in on the action
  • Rift beacons will activate
  • Some POIs will be destroyed or otherwise altered
  • Various visual effects will be employed, including graffiti in the sky

Also, there have been previous leaks from @Hypex to indicate that black holes will appear, which we saw last in its most meaningful appearance in the downtime that bridged the first two Chapters of the game. We can imagine that the rift butterfly we’ve seen in recent Fortnite profile picture changes will also appear, likely rifting players to the black hole. These two recurring themes in Fortnite all symbolise the ability to teleport, so it’s safe to assume that the Remixed Chapter 2 map will be an alternative universe or an entirely separate island that players will warp to.

As for the ongoing Marvel theme of the series, it’s easy to feel that it’s all over now – after all, players banished Doom to another dimension in the recent mini-event – but as he vowed revenge in the process, we could see that the damage done to the Chapter 5 Season 4 map could be inflicted by a furious and powerful Doom, ultimately spurring players to need to warp elsewhere – to the new map.

Plus, no matter what happens, we can expect plenty of music to play a big part in the live event, and according to @Hypex, the music will be copyrighted. Fortnite itself shared on Twitter that players will want to crank the volume up, and given that Epic Games has a pretty great track record with its musical output, we're more than happy to oblige.

Of course, this is all up in the air (as we expect many players will be during the event), so we’ll have to wait until the event goes live to see what’s coming for us. Whatever it is, it’s going to be big.
