Gordon Ramsay appeared to be "ditched" by his pals Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix as they filmed a new show without him.

The trio had spent recent years on screen together thanks to their Gordon, Gino and Fred's Road Trip. However, their hit series came to an abrupt end when Gino sensationally announced his decision "not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road Trips" in March last year.

It sparked rumours of a feud between the culinary stars, which was only heightened when Gino and Fred announced they would be filming a new show together. First Dates star Fred, 52, has teamed up with Gino, 48, for a series titled Gino and Fred's Emission Impossible, which will see the pair "attempt to go green".

Gino initially hinted at contract disagreements and behind-the-scenes issues as the reason for his resignation from the series with Gordon. However, many fans pointed out Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip, is produced by Gordon’s production company Studio Ramsay, started in 2018.

Fred has now clarified why Gordon isn't part of the new show as he said: “Gordon is extremely busy. I don't know if you've seen his Instagram and social media but he’s opening restaurant after restaurant after restaurant." The TV star explained Gordon has his "hands full" due to his two young children - Oscar, five, and Jesse, ten months.

He also explained how Gordon has "already got so many shows in America" and added to the Sun: "And we love travelling and we said to him ‘Well, look, we're going and when you want to join us, join us, and we'll go around and we'll have some fun.’"

In the new episodes, the duo will visit Austria, whose capital was ranked as the greenest city in the world in 2020. ITV bosses promise Gino and Fred's new series will bring "laughs" as "eco-conscious Fred" attempts to convince "Ferrari-loving" Gino about going green.

Addressing fans on social media about his exit, Gino said in an Instagram video: "Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road Trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong. It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do.

"Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because contracts. Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract. So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead."
