If you're a restless sleeper, you've likely noticed that your bed sheets often come untucked just a few days after changing them.

Even with fitted corners, one corner can easily come loose due to excessive movement on the mattress. However, a woman has shared a video on TikTok demonstrating a method of folding your sheets at the corners before tucking them under your mattress, ensuring they stay put throughout the night.

This technique is known as "hospital corners", commonly used in hospitals and ideal for top sheets and blankets without elasticated corners like fitted sheets. In her video, posted on her @daily.life.essentials account, the cleaning expert shows that the first step is to tuck the bottom of the sheet in at the foot of the bed along one side. Then, fold the excess over to the short side of the mattress, and tuck that in too.

Finally, pull down the folded side and tuck everything under the mattress to form a perfectly folded corner that won't come loose during the night. The woman captioned the video: "Fancy way to make your bed."

Commenters were swift to applaud the hospital corner technique for bed-making, hailing it as the quintessential means of arranging your sheets. One individual remarked: "It's not fancy, it's hospital corners! I've done that all my life! " Another chimed in: "This is considered fancy? Literally the only way I know how to make a bed."

A third contributor shared: "Hospital corners taught to me by my mum back in the 70s. Not fancy, just correct." However, not everyone was keen to take up the method, with a few jesting that wrestling with a bed sheet simply wasn't worth their time.

One commenter quipped: "I leave it all messed up and call it art."
