Emmerdale announces Zak Dingle's sad death, a huge return and Caleb exposed

Emmerdale spoilers reveal a huge week ahead on the ITV soap including the sad death of a show legend which leads to a shock return, while other characters are exposed

Viewers can expect highly emotional scenes on Emmerdale next week, as well as some revenge drama and a shocking arrival.

New spoilers have teased what's ahead on the ITV soap, with a Dales legend killed off in a heartbreaking storyline. Zak Dingle's death is announced on the show, leading to devastation across the entire village.

The Dingles rally together as news of Zak's passing is revealed by his granddaughter Debbie Dingle, with very emotional scenes on the way. If that's not enough, they lead to a long-lost Dingle making their way to the village - but who will it be?

Amid Cain Dingle's grief, his brother Caleb Miligan is up to no good again and he finally gets caught out. While one scheme sees him teaming up to bring down Kim Tate once more, his other scheme involving the late mother of his wife Ruby Miligan is rumbled - leading to a showdown.

Tom King's behaviour spirals on too, Moira Dingle gets some huge news after another seizure and Billy Fletcher finds himself tempted by another unlicensed boxing match. Where Tom is concerned, Amelia Spencer is smitten with Belle Dingle's abusive husband, and believes they are finally a couple - while fans know Tom is using her.

Meanwhile, Moira finds out there's a slot for an operation the next day, after her brain tumour diagnosis. Moira ends up delaying the surgery though, to be there for her grieving husband Cain leaving her son Matty Barton in turmoil - but will she go ahead with the op?

Ruby is left dumbfounded next week as her quest to find out what her dying mother Helen Fox wanted to tell her before her recent death leads to a discovery. She finds out Caleb saw her mum before she died and kept it from her, denying Ruby the chance to say goodbye.

Ruby confronts her husband, so is it all over for the pair? Caleb's a little preoccupied as it's revealed his money woes are continuing, amid him agreeing to help Will Taylor destroy Kim.

While Kim is torn over her feelings for her cheating ex, she has no idea that amid her grief for old friend Zak she's being played. Will has told Caleb he wants to bring Kim down, and he wants them to do it sooner rather than later.

The main focus of next week and rightly so will be on village legend Zak, following actor Steve Halliwell's passing last year. As news spreads of Zak's sad death, Cain informs his loved ones and soon he, sister Belle and their brother Sam Dingle reminisce.

Sam and Cain decide to set off to Scotland to bring their dad home, and later in the week the family gather for his funeral. In what will no doubt be difficult scenes to watch, there's a major bombshell on the cards as the Dingles are left reeling by the appearance of a long-lost relative.
