Peter Capaldi is back as a haunting serial killer in the all-new season of The Devil’s Hour. Streaming later this month, the critically acclaimed psychological thriller will continue the story of Lucy Chambers (Jessica Raine), a woman caught up in the hunt for serial killer Gideon (Capaldi).

As per the official synopsis, the new five-part season is simultaneously a sequel and a prequel to the first chapter and sees Lucy and Gideon forming an uneasy alliance in order to prevent a recurring tragedy and hunt down an elusive monster. Lucy’s double life sees her torn between family and duty as she finds herself in the crosshairs of her past-life husband, DI Ravi Dhillon (Nikesh Patel).

Assisting Dhillon in his investigation is DS Sam Boyd (Saffron Hocking) who was mentored by DI Lucy Chambers in a previous life. Season two will see fresh mysteries unfold as stories converge on one explosive moment that will change the fate of its characters for the rest of their ever-recurring lives.

The first season earned overwhelmingly positive reviews and currently boasts a 95 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, with a third and final season already in the works. Speaking at a Prime Video event earlier this month, Raine said season two will reward viewers by answering lingering questions from season one, offering a ‘thrilling experience’ filled with hidden Easter eggs.

“The audience becomes the detective, piecing together a jigsaw puzzle which you have to keep watching,” she said. “If you really concentrate, you are rewarded, and the reward is truly satisfying, like completing a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle.” Here’s when The Devil’s Hour season two is released and how you can watch it for free.
