Extreme Makeover: Home Edition star Eduardo Xol has died at the age of 58.

Xol died on Friday - ten days after he was stabbed in his apartment in downtown Palm Springs, California, according to TMZ. The interior designer was found with 'significant injuries consistent with an assault' on September 10. According to the reports, he died at Desert Regional Medical Center last Thursday after being stabbed in Palm Springs. His passing comes amid a police investigation into a recent stabbing as police say they discovered the star in an apartment after he called authorities for help.

His devastated mother confirmed his death to TMZ, while a spokesperson for the Riverside County coroner also shared the sad news. According to the outlet, Xol was the victim of a stabbing and called the authorities for help earlier this month. He was discovered at an apartment and a spokesperson for the Palm Springs Police Department told the publication that he had significant injuries.

Xol joined the Extreme Makeover cast in its second season. He also acted in several telenovelas earlier in his career.

Former editor-in-chief of People en Español, Richard Pérez-Feria, honored Xol on Instagram following news of his death. He wrote: "It’s nearly incomprehensible that I’m writing this post as a goodbye to someone who has been so present, so important in my life. When I first learned that Eduardo Xol had passed, I went numb. It was impossible to process that information as it didn’t square with my thousands of experiences with him."

"Please don’t ask me how or why at this point…what matters most is who he was: A talented, beautiful, passionate friend, brother, son and partner... Sending healing love at this horrific time to his circle of friends and family who loved him so. Sadly, tomorrow isn’t promised. Love each other. Rest in peace, Eduardo."

Xol was 58 at the time of his death. There has not yet been any confirmation on his memorial plans, but friends have begun to pay their respects on social media, calling the reality TV star 'one in a million'.
