Nobody Wants This is coming to Netflix on September 26 and the comedy-drama follows a turbulent romance between Joanne (played by Kristen Bell) and an unconventional rabbi called Noah (Adam Brody).

Kristen, 44, from Michigan, launched her acting career when she played the title character in the series Veronica Mars. She later starred as Elle Bishop in Heroes and her voice is recognisable for narrating Gossip Girl.

She reached further fame for voicing Princess Anna in the Disney Frozen films. Her parents, Lorelei and Tom, were a registered nurse and a TV news editor.

When she was four, she told her parents she did not like her first name, so they encouraged her to use her middle name, Anne, until she reached high school. As for her personal life, she had been in a five-year relationship with Kevin Mann until 2007.

Later that year, she began dating actor Dax Shepard and the pair announced their engagement in 2010. However, they decided to delay their marriage until the state of California passed legislation legalizing same-sex marriage.

In 2023 she opened up about how she makes her marriage with the Hit and Run actor work, telling ET Online: "Common goals, seek them out. Our kids are a common goal, right?

"People are like: ‘Oh, I wouldn’t be able to work with my husband or wife or partner.’ For me, I want another common goal with him.

“I respect him so much creatively. I have so much trust in him. Of course, I want him to be my director or my scene partner.”

She and the 49-year-old The Ranch actor went on to have two daughters, born in March 2013, and December 2014.

Two years later, in 2016, she opened up about receiving treatment for depression and anxiety, which stemmed from her college days.

She told Motto: "I felt plagued with a negative attitude and a sense that I was permanently in the shade. I’m normally such a bubbly, positive person, and all of a sudden I stopped feeling like myself.

"There was no logical reason for me to feel this way. I was at New York University, I was paying my bills on time, I had friends and ambition—but for some reason, there was something intangible dragging me down.

"Luckily, thanks to my mom, I knew that help was out there—and to seek it without shame."

She did not speak publicly about her struggles with mental health for the first 15 years of her career.

After deciding to seek help, she said: "It’s important for me to be candid about this so people in a similar situation can realize that they are not worthless and that they do have something to offer. We all do."
